Shame on you! A few days ago i went to the park w/ my family (Fee: $1 x car + $8 x passengers=$9.00) . An employee approached my car, and i asked her how much it was to get in. She replied: How many people are inside the vehicle? So I replied to her: "4 total" and she replied to me: "Well, you know how to add right?, so how much you think it is? I didnt bother with her because i went to the park w/ my family to have fun. But, i noticed that a rain was approaching. I told my family to wait . And after 1/2 hour it started to rain very hard w/lightning. We decided to leave, and when we were passing the entrance gate , I decided to ask for a refund or at least a rain check. The same lady walked to my car, and I asked her for a refund or a rain check. She told me to wait 1/2 an hour in case it stopped raining. So I parked my car. After 1/2 hour waiting I noticed two more vehicles at the entrance waiting the same as me. After 1/2 hour, the same employee walked to those 2 vehicles and, I saw her giving ($) a refund to them. Immediately I drove to the main gate and talk to the same lady for my refund, and she told me in a very rude and unpolite manner that "NO" refund is given. I try to talk to her, and she walk immediately to her office ignoring my request for a refund or rain check , even thought i saw her giving refund money to the two vehicles on front of me after the 1/2 hour she told me to wait. So I decided to leave the park. ll never going to Lithia Spring as long that lady is there. I do believe that the (LADY) employee mentioned in this incident should be remove from her duties or at least remove her to a different park location because her conduct was very unprofessional and unethical with me , as a regular visitor to the park .

After reading some of the other reviews I would like to kindly add: YES, it is true, it is very crowded on the holidays and weekends. Yes, you will sit in line a long time just to get in park. I am very sorry some of you were frustrated by this. (Is it any different at Disney?) This park is very popular with the locals that cannot afford Disney. If you want to go on a holiday, COME EARLY, real early and bring cash for the fees. And no alcohol in the park. That being said, it is a great park. And it is only 2 bucks. And the kids will have a blast being outside running around, going for a walk in the woods, having a picnic, etc. My original review: Great regional/County park, located off Lithia Springs Road. $2 entrance fee per car. Extra 2$ fee for wristband to enter spring swimming area. Crystal clear spring can get really crowded during middle of weekdays, with lots of local day cares bringing kids by the bus load. Park very busy on weekends. Want quiet? Come early morning or late afternoon. Great campground, sites surrounded and covered with huge beautiful oaks. Some sites are actually on edge of river. Bathrooms were clean when we were there. Playground near swimming area. Picnic tables. Hiking trails. Canoes for rent. This is one of the take-out places if you put your canoe or kayak in at Alderman Ford. Or you can canoe from here down to Riverview. Make sure you talk to Ranger to get info on how to get picked up, unless you want to paddle a couple miles back UP the river. This park has been a very popular place for locals to cool off in the summer for decades.

Beautiful park with in one of the few natural areas of the Tampa Bay area. It is also one of the few springs in close proximity to Tampa. I gave it 4 starts, in my opinion because of the lack of parking and amount of people that were there on a Sunday morning. That being said, it might be better to visit during the slow seasons, if you want to enjoy a more peaceful open space. The fresh water was crystal clear, with many little fishes swimming around in it with a nice cool temperature at around 72 degrees. Nice and cold with limerock through out the bottom. Its mostly shallow at about 2-3 feet and then theres a center point where it gets around 4-5 feet. The spring head, where everyone swims in, has has been developed around its borders by having a well and fence around it. There are lifeguards on duty and you are only able to stay at the spring head which is good decision, in order to preserve the rest of the river so that it does not see human interaction. It definitely isnt your remote getaway, but it is a nice place to bring the kids and family. You can BBA, ride bicycles, fish off the river in another part of the park and more! There is a fee to get in, and Id say its worth it for a nice day out at the park, not bad for my first time!

This is such a great park for all children, even babies and toddler. The water is mostly shallow with an average of 2-3 ft depth unless you go to the roped off deep end where the active springs can be seen bubbling gently under water. There are smooth rock formations in a few areas so I generally recommend water shoes even though its not necessary. The far side of the swimming hole is where we usually set up in the sand as there are walls around and a nice concrete ledge to sit on and set items off of the sand. There is no food and drinks other than water allowed in swimming area. Parking is adjacent and there is a nice shady area to the left where there are picnic tables and grills. A short walk past that there is a shower and bath house. The Playground is across from the bath house. It costs $2 per vehicle up to 8 people to enter the park grounds and an additional $2 per swimmer for wristband s to enter the swimming area. I ALWAYS CALL AHEAD to verify they are open and see how crowded it is. The earlier the better as it fills up fast on weekends. It will close if thunder is heard or if there has been heavy rains as the area floods. Always call ahead!!!

This is a fun park for families, kids, and pretty much anyone. Im not that into springs that get overly populated and thats exactly what youll get here. The water, although beautiful, clear and cold are filled with people. You can imagine it to be a huge public pool. Im really giving this place a 5 because it has everything you need in one park. You have a place to dip in the water, cabanas, lots of open spaces for whatever you choose to do. You can lounge by the spring, throw a birthday party, and so much more. But... my favorite part of this park is the hidden trail at the entrance that leads you to the Alafia River, a naturally orange river. Its orange because of the natural tannins in the water. Kind of like a tea bag that you throw in hot water. At first its intimidating, but we had to go down and take some photos. You can continue the trail to other parts of the river, but since we were on strict time to get back home we made it to the first deck only. We decided to walk down to the river, although I do not recommend it if youre going alone because the rocks could be a bit slippery. It is absolutely beautiful and I recommend it for a nice hike.
