My husband and I were at another nearby restaurant and notice this one had live music playing so we mosied over to check it out and have dinner. It rained quite a bit last night and the dining area had massive puddles of water covering the dining room floor. I almost slipped walking to the bathroom and no one seemed bothered by the obvious large amounts of water on the floor and no one had any intentions of trying to dry the floors. Notwithstanding the flooding in the dining area, I ordered a sampler fish diner that was three selections of fish. The plate came out swimming in a lemon butter sauce that was so ridiculously overpowered by waaaayyy too much lemon. It was almost inedible not to mention there was no way to appreciate the difference in the fish samples other than some texture differences. I normally dont complain but the waitress asked how my meal was and I thought they should know to ease up on the lemon. She apologized but didnt flinch to try to correct anything. Considering I paid almost $30 for the plate, one would think she would have at a minimum asked for the opportunity to correct the issue with the food. She was nice and polite and just apologized and kept going about her business. I tipped the usual 20+ % because well, she didnt cook the meal and was attentive but honestly the food was horrible and the veggies were not al dente, they were just under cooked. Like I said, I normally dont complain but as a chef, I would want someone to tell me if the food was less than what it was expected to be and at the very least, she could have offered something to replace the dish. I wasnt looking for a freebie by any means. The experience at this restaurant was not at all what I expected. Maybe I should have just ordered apps and a cocktail.

On our last evening in the Keys, my husband and I decided to eat at Bayside Grille. What a mistake. We wanted a nice dinner and wine in a nice place, instead we had a screeching 2 year old a couple of tables from us. Some people left wine on their table in a hurry to leave. Another couple seated after us next to them quickly asked to be reseated. The two men with the child completely ignored the ear piercing noise, played with their I-pads and didnt even acknowledge the child. I think the child might have been family to the management. No one did anything. Even with people leaving. We finally asked to have our food boxed and left, the food should have been given to us or we should have left it. By the way, the food was good. I am not really young, so I have seen many children in restaurants, But Nothing Like This. Dont subject yourself to this.

Would not have even noticed this treasure if it wasnt for Google Maps, but thats because its right on the water, not the hwy. The covered outside bar and eating area around back and directly under the upstairs restaurant was a nice surprise. There was a live band playing classic rock under a tiki (but not so loud you couldnt have conversation) a sandy area just off the tiled floor to dance or sit on picnic tables, and a small pier with underwater lights. That coupled with a full view of the bay, moored sailboats, a great breeze and beautiful sunset made for a fabulously casual and relaxed Sunday evening in May. The grilled Mahi sandwich was the best seafood Ive ever had, and was one of the least expensive on the menu ($11 with crispy seasoned fries and slaw). Appetizers $8-10, most menu items $15 to $23.

Holy cow is this food awful! The location is great, waterfront and with beautiful sunsets. But the entire meal was terrible. The key lime flavor-infused dishes just dont work. The lobster appetizer was overcooked to the point of ruined. The clam chowder would make Campbells taste gourmet. $100 later (no drinks) my wife and I were so disappointed. Incidentally, the service was above average and the staff were genuinely friendly and inviting. If you need a meal with your sunset, go someplace else. Anyplace else. As strictly a bar with a view, it delivers. Although given their poor food, I would suggest beer from the bottle or shots. Cant screw that up, I hope.

Cliffs: GREAT food, mediocre service. Cranberry coconut bread is excellent with a firm crust and a light, fluffy interior. Bartender was a very nice lady and the gin/pineapple infused rum was freaking fantastic. Seafood curry was rich with just enough spice and a great consistency. The coconut rice is delicious too. I had the seafood sampler with scallops, two kinds of shrimp, fish, and a crab cake. Everything was awesome. Our server cost a star. He was inattentive, disconnected, and generally not there. As a former server, I can say he was giving about 10%. He wasnt interested in us as a customer and that was palpable.

We came here for the view and were placed at a table overlooking the water. The temperature was unbearable as we sat there and when we asked the waiter he simple said "yeah its really hot there, nothing we can do about it" and left. We ordered the mahi basket and the stuffed chicken. I grew up on the water eating fresh fish and I can promise that the fish was frozen and I doubt that it was mahi at all. The fish was unseasoned, bland, and the chicken was inedible. It was overcooked and bland. Rude waitstaff, bland, overcooked frozen food, and high prices means I will not be coming back.

Our first impression was that the bayside grille was difficult to find, even with google maps! But when we found the grille, we really liked the look of the restaraunt because of the "greece feelin" we got. The temperatre was good and the view was amazing and beautiful! The pepsi was flat and warm so try the local beer. Me and my dad tried the tropical shrimp pasta, we expected to find a minimal amount of shimps but we were surprised by how much shrimp there were. I didnt even eat all of them! Overall, the restaurant exceeded our expectation!

We tried to make inquiries about breakfast availabilities on Sundays, hopefully making a reservation. I am disappointed to say that the staff on the phone was unable to effectively communicate in English with us, and as our bilingual group member wasnt around when we made the call, we werent able to find out, nor will we be going. Several phone calls made over the course of the following hour only resulted in immediate busy signals, like the phone was off the hook. Disappointing.

If you want good service and food - go to Snapper. If you want great service and food - go to Pilot House. If you want creativity, orginality and a family owned atmosphere - go to Bayside Grille. We are going back tomorrow night for the Conch Ceviche for sure. We are trying a few new things as well. But the steak caesar salad and bloody mary mussels were oh so good. I guess there is a view out the window but we missed it while we were stuffing our faces! Bon apetite.
