This has to be the worse experience Ive encountered since lightening hit my motorhome doing over $30,000 damage. I asked if they had Disabled Veteran, Retired Military, Handicapped or Senior citizen discounts, they said no, I always ask, it doesnt hurt... They NEVER said that you had about a quarter mile walk (each way?). I had a Wheelchair; I was Not in it and was helped by my wife and cane. I assumed it would go down the 1000 feet to a small rail ride (as we had done at other big mines). $36.00 NO Refunds. I did see the sign, but the sales person did not say at thing about the walk and sold me the ticket, knowing I was crippled, ANYWAY. I was shot up while in the military, I’m a partial Paraplegic (almost total loss of use of lower limbs), lost part of one lung. Ive had 14 Heart Attacks (since 1991), Single Bypass and Triple Bypass, 5 stents put in after 5 heart attacks in the past 5 years and of course the 9000 foot altitude didn’t help. They would NOT give me the name of the VERY RUDE (to my wife) idiot that was supposed to run or own the place. When I got a little hot and loud, when they would NOT do a refund) they threatened to call the Police... The ONLY Reason I DIDNT rat it lower they dont have a -5 Star

Unlike any other tour youll ever go on. This gold mining tour will take you down into an old mine, thru tunnels and give you a chance to see what it was like in an old gold mine or even some mines today. The tour starts with your decent down the main shaft in a metal cage elevator, stopping several hundred feet below ground, where you then begin your tour thru the many tunnels of the mine. Tour guides will explain mining methods and show features in the walls to explain how they would locate veins of gold and follow them on side tunnels. The walk inside is an easy one, and even includes a ride on some machinery in the mine. My friends were skeptical when I took them here, I hadnt been since I was a teenager, but when we left they were overly happy we had stopped. One of them wants to bring his son now. Its education, its fun, its something you wont find almost anywhere else. I highly recommend taking the time to visit. Staff is very friendly and willing to answer any questions you have. Its fun for all ages.

I highly recommend the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine tour. It was fun and educational for the whole family. At the beginning of the tour you get a hard hat and then go down in an elevator into the mine. If you are claustrophobic this is where you will have trouble, but it is only for a few minutes. Once you get down into the mine there arent any really tight, small places. The tour was very interesting and educational. It went over the history of mining, showed the different tools and how they work, taught how they get the gold out, and much more. Our tour guide was a third generation miner. He was a wealth of information and told some fun stories. I took my kids, age 9,7 and 4. They all stayed engaged and interested throughout the entire tour and really enjoyed it.

Stephen Robb gave us the most outstanding tour Ive ever experienced. He as well as his father and Grandfather worked the Gold mines going back three generations. Stephen knows what he is talking about from generations of history. I cant imagine men working underground with a small carbide light and the dangerous gases that occur not to mention the jackhammer drilling and gold ore cave ins that took the lives of so many. This was the most grueling work known to man and with very little pay. The money from the gold from Victor especially and Cripple Creek built the cities of Denver and Colorado Springs. Their is much to say about this fabulous tour but better yet experience it for yourself from a real authentic gold miner!

Fun trip to a gold mine. On the advice of the lady selling tickets we went to the diner first. There is a 10% discount at the diner if you have been down the mine but they have a system of giving tickets if you want food first. They didnt give us the tickets so this was a bit confusing. There is a decent selection of standard diner food. I cant eat gluten (not my choice, I am Celiac). When we asked about the choices the guy was really unhelpful saying that its a diner. Luckily the ladys there were really helpful and we had a decent meal. The tour was interesting but similar to other mines Ive been in. The guide was really knowledgeable and friendly. They have WiFi but no one knew the password.

It was the most exciting, unreal, history lesson ever! Our tour guide Steve, who had worked the mines with his dad for decades, was incredibly smart, articulate, fun, and kept the tour rolling. He learned the names if all the kids and included them in the conversations. If you had any hesitations of the drop down in the tight shaft, or physically walking around so far down into the earth, he completely made you forget, and focused on the importance of the history in front of you. Truly, the best tour weve ever taken, and our 10 and 11 year olds were thrilled!

I went on this tour with my son (9 y/o) and daughter (10 y/o). We all loved it. It was exciting to take the "elevator" down 1000 feet into the mine, and interesting to see the progression of different mining tools that were used in the past and those in use today. We highly recommend this tour. As a claustrophobic, I was nervous about taking the tour! But I had no troubles at all. There was plenty of cool air, and the tunnels were tall and wide. Our young guide is a local miner, so he really knew what he was talking about.

An amazing experience, well worth the money. You get to experience things that you would only otherwise be able to see on television or online. Pictures are allowed. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. This is not a handicap or stroller friendly environment. Its a tight squeeze in the shaft elevator so they do not allow back packs and I wouldnt recommend going if you are claustrophobic. The food was okay, and pricey. Food is not included with the tickets. Would recommend.

Awesome tour! It was about an hour tour but never a dull moment. You drop 1000 ft down into the mines and experience how it was for the old time miners as they started their day. Tour guide was very knowledgeable of every that came to mining. Didnt hurt that he once was a modern miner. He did a lot of demonstrations on how the old time miners did their jobs and answered any questions you had. Also the price is great for all that you do in that hour. Highly recommend! A+++

They have a few different guides, but Mike is the one we had when I took the kids. Not only was he really knowledgeable about the history and process, but he was also funny and very friendly. Great guy!!!! It doesnt matter how much you know if you dont have the ability to draw others in to help preserve its heritage. Anyone that goes should hope to have Mike as your tour guide. (The others may be just as good, but I have no knowledge of them.)
