We were sent to Agave based on a suggestion from the hotel where we were staying. We had also heard from people at in the hotel that it was a good restaurant. However, we were terribly dissappointed and ultimately felt ill. We ordered take-out from the restaurant and in our food we found a maggot/larvae. We informed the manager of the restaurant and actually got back in the car and drove to the restaurant to show them the larvae infused green pepper. All I asked was that they comp us for the meal that we had just ordered. The managers response was that larvae are naturally occuring and that its not a big deal. He refused to comp our total $45 bill and instead said that his decision was to comp half of it. How ridiculous. We almost ate a larvae, had a ruined meal, drove back to the restaurant and were very cordial to him only to be insulted. Subsequently we went back to the hotel and informed them of our experience and they said that it was the 3rd complaint that they had received about the restaurant in a week! They have since then removed the restaurant from their list of recommendations. Nice move manager guy....now youve just lost a good amount of business over not having good customer service and just paying the full $45 and making me a satisfied customer.

First of all there is no parking for the shopping complex. All the Lots around it that are not open to the public have a ton of free parking that the owners could easily purchase or negotiate a monthly rental use of, but they really just dont care and so everyone has to circle around for 15 minutes waiting for the person before them to leave. Then the parking lot was flooded, again they made absolutely no attempt to fix it, so we got to park in a foot deep of water. To be fair we were there for Taco Tuesday, and I dont expect them to have full access to the menu at really cheap prices. But not only do they not tell people its Taco Tuesday, it only includes crispy tacos of chicken or beef that basically feel like you could have gotten them at McDonalds. Cheese wasnt melted, chicken was undercooked, and the guac (doesnt come on the tacos) tasted like it came out of a herrs jar. Staff was friendly and attentive! Probably the other food is better but I could never recommend taco Tuesday to anyone.

We love Avage. If you want a casual, excellent, and reasonably priced Mexican dinner, this is the place. Theres usually no wait during the week (we got seated right away at 7:30 on a Wednesday night.) You immediately get some warm homemade tortillas that are excellent. They sometimes get backed up on making them so you should ask for more right away as your first batch with disappear in 30 seconds. Dinner is usually moderately paced so get an appetizer so you can stretch it out a little. The food is fresh, tasty, always nicely prepared, mildly spicy, and yummy. Our waiter tonight was Gene - he was a riot (superfriendly, totally tuned into me and Amy who were having a deep conversation, and - when he realized that I was downing a glass of water every five minutes, showed up with three full glasses and plunked them down, much to everyones amusement.) Good stuff - definitely worth checking out.

We had visited Agave Beaver Creek for my husbands birthday and wish I could say it was positive but upon arriving the individual at the front desk looked like she hated her job as there was not a smile or a hello. We werent asking for much but just getting napkins and silverware was like pulling teeth and we were told to hold on (even know our food was already at the table) as they were busy...that should not be our challenge. We were never asked if we wanted a second drink and hardly ever saw our waiter to ask him for another drink. Needless to say, we ate our food, and could not wait to get out of there to enjoy a drink at another bar in Beaver Creek that was more attentive and fun. The Agave at Vail transportation center is good food and they look like they are having fun...and its in a transportation center...who knew?

Terrible place. The service is the worst and food isnt great. It was my first time there cause I prefer going to Casa Mexico in Vail but my bf and I wanted to try it with a friend that recommended us the place, we were waiting long for the server to take our order and then he brought two small plates of 1 stuffed Chili that didnt satisfy us so I order some quesadillas and he didnt bring the plate!!! Waiting an hour he only gave us the ticket and that was all. The only good thing was the margarita. That was my experience but I have friends who have told me same bad experiences there. the server charged twice each person of a group and they havent receive their money back (was only a day ago but still)

Chicken mole was disappointing. Mole is suppose to be a slightly sweet sauce on fall of the bone chicken but here you get what can only be described as a boiled chicken thigh with sauce poured over white rice. The sauce is not sweet at all and the chicken is dry to the point you will need a knife to even cut through it. The salad on the plate is garnished but without any dressing and thus not flavourful. Tortillas were served cold. The apple empanada was decent but also on the dry side. All in all, a $70 meal for two plates, drinks and desert. Simply not an authentic meal by any means.

This was our first time at Agave in Avon. The food was great but the service was TERRIBLE! You could tell the waitress (Brittany) was just ready to leave and had no concern for the customers. She wore sunglasses on her head when it was after 9pm and slouched around leaving dirty dishes, glasses, and menus on our small table when they were clearly not busy. We were not Even greeted properly only cussed by a confused girl who told us to wait whike a polite guy from the kitchen sat us. Need new servers! Not impressed.

My husband and I came here with some friends the night before leaving town thinking it would be a nice restaurant to go to on our last night in Vail but BOY WERE WE WRONG...HORRIBLE SERVICE FROM THE MOMENT WE ENTERED THE DOOR..why we stayed I dont know, no one knew who was supposed to be waiting our table, they wouldnt give me my margarita at the happy hour price because they couldnt get the order taken on time, ...I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO A STARVING DOG!!!! Nice Saturday evening dinner experience - warm and friendly staff, great menu, very tasty food, good prices. We had top shelf margs, corn chowder, mahi-mahi cerviche, and a smokey pork tenderloin/black bean/plantain/pineapple main course. Everything was delish! The menu goes far beyond the typical enchiladas / burritos you see in a lot of places. For example, they serve fresh, just-made tortillas instead of fried chips.

Fine place with friendly, low-key service if you just want fresh chips with great salsa and a good beer, or a standard Mexican dinner, but if youre feeling flush they also have interesting entrees (fish, steak, scallops, etc) with delicious sauces. The ones weve had have been extremely well prepared and beautifully presented. Great soups too. Well keep coming back.
