Interessantes, eher kleineres Flugzeugmuseum. Zwei DC-3, eine in den alten American Airlines Farben, eine von nur noch zehn Flugtauglichen B-17E und ein paar wenige weitere Flieger ergänzen den Flottenpark. Zwischen den verschiedenen Flugzeugen sind Oldtimer und Kriegsgefährte aus dem 2. Weltkrieg zu sehen. Darunter ein Fahrzeug, mit voller Nazi Bemalung, inkl. Swastikas. Das Fahrzeug soll zum Fuhrpark Hitlers gehört haben. Da das Museum und die ausgestellten Flieger recht schnell besehen sind, lohnt sich der günstige Eintritt für Spotter alleweil, da vor dem Museum direkt die Piste vom SNA durchführt.

Some people think that history is something that can get boring when reading from a textbook. The Lyon Air Museum changes all of that. Here you can view and wonderful collection of planes and other vehicles. You can see bombers and fighter planes, but they also have motorcycles and cars. One of the cars they have on display is a limousine that actually drove Hitler at one point. That is the kind of stuff you cannot experience in a textbook. When you see what the "Greatest Generation" used to combat Nazis, makes you appreciate everything you have. This museum houses not only vehicles but history and memories for not only this generation but many more generations will be able to appreciate. Note: If you call ahead, you have a docent give you a guided tour of the museum, which in my opinion is amazing.

The Lyon Air Museum is a hidden gem, well worth a visit and its ticket price. Every piece of it topped all my expectations. The collection was amazing. Each plane looks like it just came of the production line, all the details preserved. You can get right up next to them and really look at every angle. The staff were really knowledgeable and just love talking to you. One of the most unexpectedly cool parts are the massive glass hangar doors that let you look out at John Waynes runway. I could watch planes takeoff and land for hours.

Lyon Air Museum at the Academy is great no matter how you cut it. If you dont find running around the Academy of Science with booze and music fun then you need to stay home with your PlayStation and keep going on your Porn Hub dates. My only gripe about this is the long lines for entry. Open up one more and add two scanners. Everyone is paying 12 bucks a pop so you can afford another 100 bucks for staff and 400 bucks for scanners.

A hidden gem in Orange County. On the historic grounds of Orange County airport, the former Santa Ana Army Airbase, youll find a rare glimpse into the past. Housing an ultra-rare B-17 Flying Fortress and an A-26 Invader, among classic cars and motorcycles of a bygone era. The fact that all the planes are airworthy, and the museum is immaculate, lends to the nostalgic feel of the place. A must see!

Take the kids and enjoy these great displays both inside the museum building and outside. The kids will love the interesting exhibits as well as the opportunity to get outside and checkout the many planes on display. Learn about WWII planes and autos. Informative and friendly museum staff. Very open inside and easy to navigate the exhibits.

One of the best air museums in the country. The hangar is run by a 94-year old general. The WWII planes and cars are in perfect condition. My guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. In the back, there is an unobstructed view of the SNA runway, which makes this an amazing place to plane spot.

Very nice facility, just limited the "wow" factor I went threw the whole museum in 40 mins. The works dont get very much visitors so theyre constantly following and asking if you have any questions.. overall its a good place to kill some time or to check out some ww2 history

Planes are in top-notch condition and there are a few very knowledgeable gentlemen that will guide you through. We had a great time with Mr. Mo as our guide today. They have a classic Mercedes Benz exhibition until August 22 (2016). Very impressive cars.

Came here to shoot some photos for MCN, entirely because they have one of only 10 airworthy B-17 Flying Fortress planes from WWII era. They also have several other interesting planes, cars and motorcycles, well worth it for vehicle buffs.

Very nice place and people. I cant believe that all these planes are flyable. So much history and no one was here. Highly recommend you do if you are deciding. Well worth the money.

Lots of WWII planes and cars. It was interactive and had a video of a POW and WWII vet and he was a total hero! Really interesting to see history first hand.

This is a very nice collection of plants and occasionally a few of General Lyons collector cars. The docents are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
