If you took this place out of Newport Beach it might be ok. They have a bar, a Dj, seats...and are in a nice hotel. However the pretentiousness oozes out in every direction and if I could say it any stronger: do not go here on the weekend unless you feel that you are entitled, have a narcissistic need to display your money (or pretend that you have some), or like doing drugs in the bathroom. But if thats your thing...this is the PERFECT place for you. Drinks, if you can eventually get one ordered and delivered, are decent strength and about what youd expect to pay in a hotel lounge. I was there last night and twice I was sitting in a clearly common area and a waitress came up to say that it was now reserved. Funny how I had been sitting there for 30-45 minutes and it was suddenly reserved when a guy ordered bottle service and wanted to sit somewhere. I understand reserving in advance, but asking a paying guest to move on the fly...seriously Island Hotel?! This is just one of the many reasons I will never come here again and will tell as many people as I can to avoid this place. Unless, as I mentioned above, this sort of thing appeals to you.

I enjoyed my experience overall, but I just cant bring myself to give it that coveted 5th star. Our server was friendly and helpful, but both our burgers were made incorrectly. Its a simple mistake, of course, but one that shouldnt have been made twice in one evening - especially at a 5 star hotel like the Island Hotel. Their happy hour burgers are super tasty and only 5 dollars! No complaints about price or taste. I recommend making sure your order is communicated clearly to the staff, and definitely try it out during Happy Hour.

Not bad inside, lots of girls on Fri sat. Night. But the patio is the best !! Cigars are ok with 4 nice sofas And big fire pit Oak grill service , food, drinks etc...... Waaaay better than crapy Golfstream for cigars

Place is fraud. Charged us after kicking us out for a nearby table and after writing void on the receipt, they reprinted it and tried signing my signature. Avoid at all cost.

Great food. Wonderful ambiance. Good vegetarian and pescatarian options. Try the Mani mahi tacos and the squash pizza. Signature mezcal was great as well!

Awesome happy hour, 2 dollar drafts and 5 dollar burgers that are full sized. Skip the shrimp cocktail. Friendly staff all bar bites 1/2 price.
