The restaurants decor reminds me of Tuscany, it is beautiful to look at.The problem appears to be in the service and the taste of the food. The server was aloof, curt, and downright arrogant. As a person who works for with customers on a daily basis I would assume that social skills would be required for the job. Although I have lived in Lodi for 1.5 years ,I waited until my parents drove from Los Angeles to eat at the Dancing Fox. The yelp reviews were 4 stars and from the appearance of the restaurant I thought my parents would love the place. The food was prepared with little to no taste which surprised me as the order was fairly simple. We ordered a patty melt, two hamburgers and french fries. The fries tasted like frozen ORE-IDA with absolutely no seasoning, the hamburgers were no better than Dennys. Now it is time to describe the patty melt which came on two pieces of bread thick enough to be considered a pastry. My father had to take the sandwich home so that I could replace the bread and put sauce on it. Might I add that the hamburgers did not include even a dollop of mustard, ketchup, or any sauce. The waiter never asked how the food was and did not care that it had barely been touched. My boyfriend had to ask repeated times for a refill on his water with only 4 other patrons in the entire establishment. When the waiter arrived I asked if I also could get a refill and was met with a sarcastic tone " ohhhh, you too." I am not from a small town but from a big city for many years and have eaten at 1-5 star restaurants in my time. If I could give the dancing fox a negative star I would. A bit of advice- GET NEW WAITERS.

Today I went with 6 of my family to have a late breakfast here. We arrived at 10:40am and were promptly seated and given breakfast menus. The lady came to take our drink order, 4 coffees, a hot chocolate and a warm almond milk, which she couldnt seem to wrap her head around. How did we want the almond milk? Warm? In the microwave? Or the stove? We get our drinks and 15 min later a waiter finally comes to take our breakfast order, comes back 5 min later to tell us that they are no longer serving breakfast, that stopped at 10:56am, and so we can order from the lunch menu or just sit and enjoy our drinks.....OK........ so we opt to order from the lunch menu. We wait 40+min for our food to come out and finally when it does 3 of the 6 orders are wrong. We had asked for salad instead of french fries, no meat on the wrap and to not toast the sandwich, not complicated. Another 20 mins go by and finally we ask for the manager, who does not seemed concerned at all and actually annoyed that we are saying anything. 10 min later the correct food arrives and we are told that we will be comped for the salad and the wrap. The food was over salted and the salad had so much dressing it made you sick, and the lettuce was limp and wilted. Bottom line, horrible horrible service, mediocre food and bad management. Wont be eating here again.

We went on a Thursday night just before the famers market in downtown Lodi. The place and decor was wonderful, but the service was lacking. We couldnt seem to get our servers attention when we needed drink refills and when we needed the check...so we ended up walking up to the counter when we couldnt flag them down. We discovered later that Dancing Fox had at least three booths at the market area - maybe they should have had just two and made sure they had enough staff at the bakery instead. This is more of a cafe than a restaurant, so dont go in expecting much for dinner service (go for a lite meal). I had the vegie pizza (which was awesome! The do make good artisian pizza) but my spouse had the tri-tip...he said the best thing on the plate was cooked carrots and squash. The tri-tip was lacking and we noticed that it didnt come with bread, which you think would be included if it was a bakery. You pay for the ambiance, not the food (unless you get the pizza, haha).

We came on Thursday, 7/25/2013 early afternoon for wine tasting and were told that the wine tasting service is only open in the evening, however, since Thursday has the Farmers Market they would be very busy. So, we were considerate and made wine tasting and dinner reservation for the next day (Friday, 7/26/2013). After arrival 15 minutes prior to our dinner reservation we were told at that time, that the wine tasting service is only in the afternoon contrary what we were told the previous day. I mentioned that we had reservation, but our request was ignored. The restaurant is nicely decorated, however, very disorganized and the service is terrible. The sad thing is that the place had only 4 tables occupied that were handled by two male servers. We are from Las Vegas and I have to admit, that this was the worst service I have ever received. Sorry, but I would never suggest anybody to visit this place for wine tasting.

Maybe we will try something different next time because weve enjoyed other experiences. This time we arrived at 2 on a sunday, a short wait no biggie. But after we got seated I think our table was missed. Took a long time to get a server to place orders, and food took a long time to arrive. Its was pretty burnt and sausages were exceptionally dry. And I dont know if sausages are made to be different but our table had 2 different types of sausages and the length was almost twice the size on one plus that one had double the fries... My kids pizza crust was burnt to dark black. We didnt get food till 10 min. to 3 and I wanted to get my kids a treat for being well behaved during the long wait but they had thrown everything out I guess trying to close instead of work with last tables.

This is the third and final time I will go here. Honestly, I dont see how they find so many jerks to work here. And the attitude always comes from the men. Today at 1445 we were told (by a man) it was too late to get a beer. They close at 1500. But the attitude is what I dislike. I have a business in Lodi and 2 other times my wife and I have been treated badly by these male employees. We left as they served the others. Another time we were too small of a group thus were unworthy. Once, the Winery acted like we were imposing on them to try their mediocre wine. Different strokes I guess. It is an attitude common in Napa.. the Napa Attitude. God help us if it catches on in Lodi.

Dancing fox has been a favorite restaurant for a few years but when I gotten food here for my wifes birthday now two years in a row there have been huge mistakes. I ordered here a gluten free veggie Burger to take home with me each time. Last year I received a meat burger instead of veggie. The owner responded and tried to make it better. This year we got the wrong bun. She is allergic to wheat based products. It was not noticed until she tooka Bite and noticed the wrong texture. Now she is sick for her birthday. We have not been able to get them to answer their phone. I will not be returning anymore.
