This is a dangerous little course, overcrowded and not marshaled. The layout is compact, and the yardage is overstated. Played here today. The first hole has a berm which blinds anything more than 150 yards beyond the tee box. There is no way for drivers on the box to see you if you are on the other side of the berm. The 17th and 8th holes share a fairway and green but have separate tee boxes blinded to each other. This can present some problems. As for the poor marshaling, we followed a six-some (that should say it all) for the first nine (this is an 18 hole course with 9.5 distinct holes.) It took 2 hours 45 minutes to play behind this group. We ate lunch at the turn (or after the first lap.) As we finished the 9th hole, a foursome was teeing off on the 1st/10th tee. The six-some was finished. We sat down, ate lunch, and then teed off. There was no one between us and the four-some that was teeing off before we ate lunch. We caught up with them on our 11th (their 2nd) hole. 40 minutes later, we just skipped the 13th hole in an effort to pass them. There were a very nice group of drunks on the 14th tee, having recently flipped their cart. They let us play through. As we finished the 16th hole, the aforementioned foursome whom we had skipped 13 to get ahead of had just finished 13. There were no marshals to persuade these elderly speedsters or the young drunks to keep pace. The course is quite easy. My friend, his girlfriend and I played the last 6 holes in about an hour, a slightly faster pace than the nearly 3 hours it took to play all 9 holes the first time through. I wouldnt go here.

Ive been playing golf here since I was 4 and ive loved every bit of it. Gilroys charm is in its funkyness. The only 11 hole course in the world, or as far as I know this layout is so interesting and has really been untouched for decades. The greens are small making great target practice golf while the fairways are fairly wide so you can bomb it away. I come to a golf course to have a great time, and its guaranteed here at this local gem. And as an added bonus the prices here are killer!

Fun little track to get out on with my son, are go beat the ball around with friends. For a muni course it is in great shape.

Not a long course but small greens which can make it challenging. But fun to play
