If there was the option to put 0 stars, I would do that. The manager (or the mentally underdeveloped person who pretended to be) didnt pay the band according to the terms that were agreed upon. He used pathetic excuses like "we have to pay the chef and the people working here" WHAT?!?!?!? Then the sound engineer agreed to at least give us money to cover our train fare. After this agreement he was nowhere to be found. The manager then informed us that he sent the sound engineer home and that we would not be getting reimbursed for train fare (which would have only been $6 a person for a 3 member band). When asked if the sound engineer would be paid, the manager told us that he gets paid no matter what and that there was not even any money in the register to pay us even though my wife spent $40 on food and drink. Money she would not have spent in the first place, had she known that we were not going to be paid. When she tried to talk to the manager (in a very polite way) he called her an "emotional woman" and refused to speak with her. Where is the human respect? Very SEXIST and very UNPROFESSIONAL. A MISERABLE PERSON WHO SHOULD NOT BE A "MANAGER" IN MANHATTAN! ALSO: all you can eat chicken wings for 15 dollars, be careful. DONT GET THE CHICKEN WINGS IF YOU DONT WANT DIARREA THE NEXT DAY! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! MUSICIANS AVOID THIS PLACE!

My experience at Bar Nine was a bit of a mixed bag. We showed up around 9 on a Saturday. The place was absolutely packed in the front so we squeezed into a small spot at the bar while we waited for the rest of our friends to show up. Beers were $8, not outrageous but not cheap. The dueling pianos were quite entertaining, there was at least one bachelorette party and the guys were quite raunchy. Crowd was mixed though probably leaned middle aged. When our friends show up we went to the back which was pretty uncrowded and quiet enough to have a conversation. In the back they had 2 ski-ball machines, a pool table, a unpowered ms pac man, and a big buc hunter. I threw $5 into the left ski-ball machine only to find out that it was broken. There were only 4 balls in the machine and they wouldnt feed properly, it was essentially unplayable and I chalked it up to an idiot tax. There was a waitress for the back area so you didnt have to run to the front bar to get drinks. She wasnt the friendliest and would disappear for long periods but she got the job done. In the back I started ordering buckets of PRB, for $16 it was fairly economical. After the pianos were finished they played a decent mix of music. We stayed until around 12 and while I had a decent time its not the type of place I would frequent. I wouldnt necessarily mind coming back though.

Bar Nine must be making BANK off of this whole Dueling Pianos deal. I came in for a Friday night show with a Living Social deal - $20 for two tickets, two drinks, but the catch is that you still have a two drink minimum per person. Which wouldnt be as bad if the drinks werent so expensive. I think we ended up paying almost $50 for four drinks. At least the service was good - our waitress was attentive even though she was serving a packed house. The show itself was okay - not really "dueling", so much as two guys taking song requests for tips (but not Bar Nines fault - this is just more of an FYI if youre planning on going for Dueling Pianos). I wouldnt be back for the show and with drinks costing as much as they do here, I can find a ton of other equally divey bars with much cheaper drinks. It is NYC after all.

I think is this the worse happy hour I have been in a while, I was looking forward going here, because I was going to get together and meet, with others yelper, but the experience I had in the bar, was not the best. The lists of happy hour is small and have the worse drink in the world, the others drinks that are not include in the happy hour, they are very expensive. The only one that they had on the list, are bad drink. They are other places with happy hour way to better. The food: five dollars, for one hot dog, do not care is dangers o no, but to much money for bread and meat. I saw the taco are too small, they do not have too much variety The pool table costs $2 per game which is way too much. I think i will not come back again.

I used to love this bar, but Im guessing its been taken over by new management who appear to think its some sort of crazy dance club as opposed to a chill neighborhood bar. I went there last night. The service was TERRIBLE. Rude and slow and the manager was a jerk too. They wouldnt let anyone into the big area with the couches. It was apparently reserved for a party that only 6 people ever showed up to. The music was so painfully loud you couldnt even think let alone talk and they refused to turn it down despite many people asking them to. We ordered the buffalo chicken strips which werent buffalo at all, they were soaked in BBQ sauce and served with a side of sour cream. They were disgusting. I wont be going back.

I went there last night with my sister because the sign outside said "1/2 off apps" during happy hour. The menu also clearly stated this. However, when we got the bill we were charged full price only to be informed that they "changed that in June." I asked to speak with a manager, and after waiting about 10 minutes (thus putting us late for a show) a very rude guy showed up to say the same thing. He was condescending and had no respect for the fact that the restaurant face and menu had FALSE ADVERTISING. If you change the menu priced, youd better change the actual physical menus and signs you put outside.

Beer on tap was warm. Had to switch my beer twice and still tasted funky. The frozen margarita tasted like hand soap. If youre forced to come here Id recommend bottled beer. They cant mess that up. The food tasted stale as well. The mozzarella sticks were fine actually, but thats probably because they microwaved them. The sliders were horrible and the bread was probably two weeks expired. Honestly one of the worst bars Ive been to this year.

Loved this bar... Stopped by yesterday and I ordered the danger dog and shrimp tacos (a-m-a-z-i-n-g) and my friend got chicken quesadillas which were really good too. I am from Mexico and this is legit. I wouldnt expect to find such delicious food in bar in hells kitchen, but bingo! They have a photobooth and skeeball, I suck ai it but had fun Try the micheladas (spicy) If you dont know what it is go find out :) (or google)

Place is great. The service here is well and the bartenders / staff are very attentive and friendly. Also on top of it even with a packed house. The food is typical bar food affair. Made well though and usually fast. Love the tots here as well. Nice and crispy. Never had a night here with the Duelling Pianos. But it seems popular and keeps the crowd coming. So the ambiance is cool. Better a lively crowd than no people.
