East side entrance (Hollister side) is good for a couple of hikes.... there is shuttle service only at the east side of the park but not on the west side(Soledad side entrance)....you cannot drive from one side of the park to the other through the park but around it though...... that drive would be a long one... so see the map and decide how much/what kind of hiking you can do/prefer......personally I prefer the west side entrance since the trail is open and many people take it for a leisure hike.... east side is good for hardcore hiking....if you want to visit the caves and like a bigger crowd on weekends/long weekends (not an avid hiker but enjoy hiking along known trails), west side is the most enjoyable... temperature in summer can easily hit 105F, so carry atleast 1Liter water/person (2-3 bottles).... also if you are hiking by the day, you would be well advised to have a light backpack with - A hiking pole/stick At least 2-3 bottles of water Loose clothing A cap Sunscreen Good hiking shoes Energy bars/snack Compass/thermometer A map and a fully charged phone A small strong flashlight (for inside the caves) Nice and quiet place to explore the nature...... keep the park clean and no fires.....happy hiking and enjoy the pinnacles

This place is so serene, away from cities and the most natural form of nature. There are multiple trails for different levels of hiking experience, and they each have their unique scenery. Be sure to take plenty of water and wear sunscreen.

Pinnacles is a local wonder of beauty with its high jagged peaks, calm lakes, moderate hiking trails, and its deep dark caves. Only hours outside the Bay Area, a visit to the Pinnacles feels like an adventure if a far off land.
