Traces Golf Course is located between Florence and Darlington SC. It contains 27 holes (3 x nine layouts) that vary in degree of difficulty depending on which tee box you use. After gradually falling into a state of neglect over the last several years, it was rejuvenated by new management who have spent time and money feeding the starving greens and fairways. They have simply shown this beautiful course some well deserved TLC. It features an attractive clubhouse/Pro Shop staffed with courteous people, a place to eat/drink... Shankers Grill, a full driving range and an area for chipping, putting and sand-trap practice. Ive played many courses in the Pee Dee area over the last 15+ years of coming to South Carolina in the Spring, and Traces has always had the special intangible quality that has kept me returning here. I have played this 27 hole course twice in the last month. Once I had a free pass and the other time I was just charged a cart fee. All employees were friendly and courteous. They appreciated our business. Also, they monitored the pace of play well. Overall, the course was in good condition, especially the greens. It is an interesting layout that is fun to play with a variety of holes. I dont mind the 45 minute drive from Camden. I would recommend Traces to anyone.

This course is for the golfer, the ones who love to walk or ride. There is neither a locker room nor banquet room. However, the course layout is pretty and the course is easy; but, please dont be fooled by the many obtical allusions at Traces Golf Course. For just when you think youve mastered a couple of holes, a large undulating fairway and green will greet you on the next tee. All of the greens, the fairways, the tee boxes and the grounds are immaculate.

Our last round at N Myrtle Beach was going to be cart path only so we tried this one on the way home. Great price and great conditons. Multiple tees from short to very long allow you to choose your poison and not be out of your reach that day. Greens and fairways were more than you could expect for the price. Very glad we played there.

Very nice staff, excellent greens and fairways, and not too crowded. The price is the only thing that makes you not to comfortable with the whole situation. Pro Shop is over priced as well. But the main thing, the course, was great.

Course is in good shape generally. Greens were perfect and with three sets of 9 holes you can mix it up a bit. Good at Shankers isnt bad either.
