Very excited to take the family for the Christmas lights. 1st- I was shocked at the conditions of the path due to recent weather, sheets of ice! We expected the cold/snow and dressed for the occasion but they definitely need to figure out how to sand or something to avoid injuries. I saw so many people falling, one lady was pretty sure she broke her wrist and her husband was trying to figure out how to get her to their car. The sheet of ice walking paths werent what made us decide to leave... it was an awfully rude shuttle driver! We were up near candy cane lane when the crowd of people noticed a shuttle trying to get through ( why they have a shuttle driving through a very populated walking area in the dark??) Everyone nicely moved to one side of the road to be out of her way. Well apparently we moved to the wrong side!! She rolled down her window and angerly yelled "hey, how about you people move to the other side of the road, Im trying to get through here!! I was shocked as well as many others, we all thought we were out of her way. Apparently not and she needs to learn some manners! Went to try and find someone to speak to about it as we decided to leave, couldnt find anyone that knew anything and was told to call a manager (I will be) Extremely disappointed in the entire experience and it wasnt cheap. $70 for my family to enjoy a little over an hour of that.

I rarely complain or write negative reviews but felt that I should warn others prior to spending the money for "Christmas in the garden". First off you wait outdoors in a line for 45 minutes for a bracelet that serves absolutely no purpose. It said over 21 yet we got carded when we went to buy a drink. The food pavilions were horribly overpriced and once we got out $4 mocha (different from hot chocolate according to menu) we were informed they had no hot water so it was luke warm at best....also discovered we received the wrong drink and to our surprise it was not coffee at all. There were so many children and elderly people there but no de-icer or gravel on the walkways. I saw several people slip and fall. The childrens activities had nobody to run them. They set supplies out but nobody knew what to do with them and there were no staff to assist. There was also a lady (staff) in the tent telling the kids to be quiet for the carolers because it was pointless to sing if they had to shout over them?? Not sure why they would choose to sing in a childrens activity tent and expect a bunch of excited children to be quiet? The entire event was overpriced for what you pay for. On top of $10 per adult and $7 for kids you pay $5 to park for a display that is mediocre. This was my first trip to the garden and I left feeling very disappointed.

The place is beautiful and absolutely amazing. But the staff was a complete disgrace to what is supposed to be a representation to a family event. They were demaning, cast aside caution to the wind, inconsiderate to the innocencey of children and families with their choice of horrific choice of music. The staff completely lied and overcharged us. They would not honor their prices listed on their website, and when confronted about it they said well we have it listed as $15 on our sign. Is this not a modern day scam to steal money from families that drive a long distance to enjoy an evening together? Lets deceive families and give them false advertisement and have them drive out here once they get here we over charge them. The staff were nothing more than adolescent children hopped on drugs with no respect for anyone elses wishes or requests. In the case of the staff, the left hand did not know what the right hand was doing. We could never get a consistent explanation from the staff in regards to anything either an event or funds. I asked the person at the entrance booth where the inner tubing was at, she responded with a, "I dont believe there is any inner tubing, there is only ice skating"... The inner tubing was no more than a thousand feet away from where she was sitting!!!

The Oregon Garden features local and exotic plants. It utilises treated water for irrigation and also provides a cooling process for the treated water before it enters the nearby river system. There are lots of pathways and there is also a hop-on-and-off "tram" with an informative guide commentary. There is an emphasis on local trees and plants. There are also different sections e.g. childrens, home gardening, hothouse. In summer months, there are open air movies on Thursday nights. The entry gift shop also provides basis beverages and snacks. Adjacently to the Garden is the Oregon Garden Resort with accommodation facilities. The garden is well worth a visit if you are in the locality. There is an entry fee. It could be improved by having more identification plates for the various plants.

My wife surprised me with a weekend stay with our friends, and I had to embarassingly step in just to get a key to a room that worked. First, the keys we were given to our accessible room already had people staying in it that we walked in on! Then, when downgraded from one king to two queens, our keys didnt work! And then, after the maintenance man let us so we could unload luggage to go to the hot tub, our keys didnt let us back in! My wife, a paraplegic in a wheelchair, was shivering and the front desk was confrontational with when we explained! He took 15 mins to reprogram our keys, even with the same maintenance standing next to us to help - and accused me of being rude! Outrageous!

Awesome well maintained garden. Has variety of plants including plants of fruits eaten regularly. Each plant variety has nice information cards. Plenty of parking available. Staff is friendly as well. Apart from the basic garden essentials, we visited the garden for solar eclipse and attended eclipse of the garden party. It was very well organized. The staff was supportive and handled the large number of vistors nicely without any problem. They made this very rare occasion forever engraved in our memory. Good job! They also organize other events such as movies at the garden. Overall a worth visiting place in Oregon.

We got stranded in below freezing weather with our children! Parking was full and we were given a flyer with an address on it to catch a shuttle saying shuttle were running until 1030pm. It was the wrong address. After finding the correct location we were taken by shuttle to the garden. Our group of 7 spent $150 on admission and ice skating then went to wait at the shuttle stop at 930 only to find out there was no shuttle and a group a large group of other stranded patrons. We waited for 1 hr in 29° weather with small children until a maintenance man from the hotel gave my husband a ride back to our car.

Decided to go since we had gone to see the Frank Lloyd Wright house, which is nearby. We thought that it being this late in the year (September) there probably would not be much in bloom. Lots of flowers were still displaying their beauty plus the many water features, special displays and art through out the grounds made it worthwhile. A quick visit turned into a good three hour tour and walk. The staff were friendly, helpful, and did not mind stopping and discussing the gardens and plants. There will be a return trip to see the gardens at a different time of the year and the surprises it displays.
