Rondout is easily one of my favorite places to play in Ulster county, and for good reason. Challenging golf, expansive views and good people. The front 9 is very playable, but starts and finishes with tough par 4s. The back 9 is definitely harder, with lots of water coming into play. If you want a course thatll make you think "risk/reward" then check out Rondout. And if your game isnt much to look at then the awesome views of Mohonk Mountain (9th green, 5th, 6th, 10th and 17th tees) and the panoramic views of the Catskills (1st, 7th, 13th tees) will more than make up for it.

Course is pathetic. Couldnt believe the condition of the fairways. Spotty dead patches everywhere. And the greens were just as bad. I asked a maintenance man when was the last time the course was over-seeded. He told me they dont over-seed because the owner is to cheap to pay for it. There seems to be a lot at this course that is done on the cheap. Oh and if you use your Groupon dont expect to receive your range balls or $9 voucher but do expect to be placed on the 8th hole starting off with your tee time booked days in advanced!
