Why Oak Crest is so bad at communication (an essential in order to have a good business):: I e-mail them twice, the first time they danced around my questions and said only two things: 1. were glad for your considerations and 2. we have 12.2 acres (something I didnt ask nor was I interested in). I e-mailed again politely, trying to get atleast one question answered - for example, the prices of packages posted on their site. So I tried calling. I called on different days, neither of which was a weekend. I received no response every time, except a recording to leave a message. Finally, in aggravation of never reaching them I left a nice message of my name and number and Id like some information about having a wedding on their premises even look around. No call back. (Also just for reference, this occurred for the time period of a month). This place was talked about fondly by my soon to be mother-in-law on how pretty it was, but their lack of business skills absolutely turned me away. IMPORTANT QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF: If a company doesnt get back to you before they know how interested you are, how can you count on them to be there when you need them? If they already act like they dont need your business, how good of services will they provide when they get around to it? IF they already dont get back to you now, what about on your wedding day or the days before? Thats not an experience you want to pay people to give you. Perhaps they have done better for others with connections perhaps; however, in my experience almost everything you can do wrong, theyve done. Its been one disappointment after the other.

I must say for a place that is so beautiful their service is terrible!! I was 100% stressed during the entire planning of the wedding due to their lack of communication and professionalism. The wedding coordinator that I was assigned to promised many things and never delivered, major smoke screen. During the planning I would make phone calls and send emails and did not get a response for weeks. For a bride that is a scary thought! During the wedding rehearsal, ceremony, and reception the coordinator walked around like she is in the clouds and could not control a crowd. It was very hectic and unorganized. I spent my special day acting as the wedding coordinator. Not to mention how she was dressed as if this was a casual occasion. I would not recommend this venue!!

Worst experience ever...the business is completely unprofessional and they take advantage of situations and people. I wouldnt recommend anyone planning an event here. My event planner got fired or quit in the middle of me planning my wedding, which they did not even bother on telling me. When I went to cancel, the new girl did not even know who I was or that I even planned something there. It took me about a week to even get in touch with someone to cancel. I sent the business manager a complaint and she did not even bother on responding. Then 3 months later the girl calls me laughing saying "you canceled your wedding right? I just now found your paperwork and realized your wedding is in 10 days" WOW! seriously...this place needs help

I just looked on Google for the address to Oak Crest Mansion so that I could send a thank you card and was very surprised to see the low rating. My husband and I stayed there (our experience was as a b&b, not an event). I frequently go to the Gulf Coast (I have business at Stennis Space Center) and I think this is the best place to stay, by a long shot. The staff is extremely hospitable, professional, courteous and treat you as a welcomed guest. Bobby, the Inn Keeper makes WONDERFUL breakfast. The Mansion is comfortable and welcoming. I give this place 2 thumbs up - and would highly recommend it for a place to stay on a vacation or if you are on business and want something more inviting than a chain hotel.

Wonderful experience having Queens tea with my friends at Oak Crest Mansion Inn. We had a private room on the right side of the main foyer. I immediately let out a sigh with the china settings and tablecloths and napkins of fine linen. Our hostess, Julia, was charming and told us the history of the mansion. She brought each of us our own teapots and explained everything that arrived on the trays that were laden with sandwiches and sweets. I can hardly wait to go again for my birthday. We were invited to tour the bedrooms which were amazing. I felt like we were transported back in time to the old south.

Called about using their venue for a photoshoot for a fashion event. The girl I talked to on the phone was extremely rude and acted like it was beneath them to even deal with something like that. Basically said nevermind and hung up and scratched them off my list of venues. Ended up finding a very welcoming venue in Mobile AL. that was absolutely excited about housing the event for us. I wouldnt give this place a single cent, much less free advertisement...

A wonderful place to have a wedding! I couldnt believe the extra attention that they gave the bride and her family. They thought of everything and really went all out. The beds are soooo comfortable, the food is delicious and everyone is so nice. I still keep in touch with the couple I had breakfast with the next morning. These are memories I will never trade. I hope my daughter gets married at Oak Crest when she is well in her 20s :-)

Just had Sunday brunch there. GREAT food. I especially liked the quiche and mimosas. The 1920s mansion is spectacular. Service was great. Hospitality was even better. They helped my wheelchair bound father out of the car (free valet parking) and happily showed us all around the home sharing the history (complete with Dixie Mafia stories) and beautiful decor. I highly recommend it.

My husband and I stayed at this B&B in carriage house, which we had all to ourselves. The rooms were immaculate, the grounds were beautiful and well-maintained. The breakfast was delicious and we throughly enjoyed our stay! Would highly recommend for a wedding, a weekend getaway, a family reunion, or any kind of event. Thanks to Jason for being a great innkeeper!

The Oak Crest Mansion is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon or even to stay the night in one of there fantastic guest rooms. This place totally deserves a visit. Also, the Sunday brunch is fabulous, and the entire place is so rich with history!! Ask the staff, theyll fill you in... :)
