We went to Deardoff this weekend with our family and my brother and his family and were extremely disappointed! After we spent $40 in a dinky plastic bag that is supposed to hold 10 pounds of apples you can wait around for 15-20 minutes for a tractor and wagon to bring you to the Apple trees or walk there yourself. We decided to walk to the Bonnie fields because the barn staff sent us that way and there were hardly any edible apples left. The ones that we did find were literally no bigger than a Mandarin orange. I am fine paying a ridiculous $40 for a bag of the apples are decent but we left with a half full bag because there was not anything left worth picking. Then to top it off, we decided to grab a tractor ride back for the kids sake and as I was boarding my 3 yr old on the trailer the tractor took off, the driver never stopped and kept going with me jogging after it to stay next to the wagon. Furthermore, there are no rails or sides to the wagon so when the older gentleman on the green open top tractor just took off my child could have easily fallen or been ran over. HORRIBLE! Our families have absolutely no intention of returning and if you want to charge so much for apples make sure there are some left to choose from

I am only giving this a one star review because I cant post a review with anything less. Today my daughters attempted to pick apples for our family at your orchard. My oldest is 17 and I thought it was reasonable to send them by themselves. They came home very upset with their experience. They said as they were walking toward the orchard an old man stopped his tractor, that was pulling a wagon full of people, to yell at them. He asked them how old they were and said if they were unaccompanied by an adult, they needed to be over 21. He claims it said this on the website, however I did not see this anywhere. The thing I did see on the website was that there would be llamas. My daughters were looking forward to seeing a llama, but there were none there. The baby goats were allowed to run free and the horses manes clearly had not been brushed in weeks; they were filled with burrs. I had asked them to each buy a pumpkin for them to carve, but the pumpkins were a whopping $10 per pumpkin. Not only that but the pre-picked apples cost $20-25. Everything there was overpriced and they had a terrible experience. We will NOT be coming back.

We came on a weekday. The staff were very unfriendly and treated us like we were more of a nuisance than welcomed customers. We had a hard time finding someone to help us, and when we did they were very abrupt. I have bought good apples here before and thought I would try a bag. I paid $17.50 for a 1/2 peck. Out of the entire bag there were only two good apples! The rest were grainy, mealy and starting to get slimy and discolored inside. What a disappointment!!! (and no, they were not seconds) What was supposed to be a nice trip with my son and his friend was a complete disappointement! I will NOT be back.

Despite what the last reviewer said I thought it was a great experience. We had a really good time. There are continuous wagon rides out to the orchard. You could pick from any tree you wanted out there and then get a ride back to the barn. Theres a small petting zoo that my three year old thought it was great. There were hay bales for him to climb up on and old tractors to look at and climb on. Maybe the apples are a little bit more Im not sure what other orchards charge but for the whole experience it seemed worth. Well definitely be going back next year.

Love going here. About 30 minutes from the Center of Minneapolis, conveniently accessible off Highway 5 - a huge orchard with all the various hybrids created in Minnesota, such as Zestar, Honeycrisp, and Sweet Tango. Picking season is short, and in the mid fall (around September or October). The apple barn is usually open, the wine tasting is open frequently - I love this place. My only regret is posting this review, because during some prime days - it gets overrun as it is.

Great service, great apple selection to pick yourself. Honeycrisp are available for self pick which is awesome. We were even greeted while picking by one of the staff. He had told us it was quite a rare year to pick apples because of the mothers day frost, the trees packed extra sugar into the apples to help them survive. He pointed us to the best apples to pick. They were crisp and super sweet. Thank you again!

We visited Deardorff this fall and had a nice time. There is a short flatbed ride around the orchard along with a couple of friendly horses, goats, and a few chickens. The apples were tasty and the place was not overrun by crowds. Well be back next year!

Great atmosphere, laid back, there was lots of people, wine tasting, live music, and trailer rides. Took the family and they all had a good time. And there was a strudel stand that served *delicious* strudel!

Good place but not our favorite. Relaxed atmosphere and not crowded. Orchard wasnt as maintained as others weve been to and a bit more expensive. The honeycrisp apples didnt taste quite right.
