I do not play golf so I cannot attest to the course itself.. As a local I am always looking for new, nice places to walk and would love if our area had more trails. I came here to walk on the public walking trail maintained by Harbor Shores. At first I absolutley loved the trail and wondered why I had never been here before.... however the trails are not clearly marked and there is only one map located at the trail head. I wanted to walk near the river so I stayed on the trails that would taKe me in that direction. As I walked closer to the river I began to notice garbage along the trail as I got closer to the river i saw what I though was a man fishing. When I got closer I realized it was a homeless man with quite a little camp set up. I was quite nervous because I was on a trail alone and he was muttering and seemed somewhat out of it. I hurried by and figured I would take another path out of there.... then the trail abrubtly dead ended into the river. I had to turn and go past the camp again to leave. This man would have known the trail dead ended and could have easily taken advantage of this knowledge. I had no way of knowing! I called Harbor Shores when I got back to my car to let them know about the camp so another woman would not be as scared as I was. I was transfered around a couple times and finally directed to leave my name and number and someone would get back to me. Nobody ever called me back. I will never walk here again... please if you do decide to walk here stay towards the golf course jot towards the river!!

The staff were great in the restaurant and pro shop. The course was in good shape except for the 18th which we were unable to putt as the geese had taken over and covered the entire green in feces. I had been looking forwarded to playing the course, unfortunately disappointed with the overall layout and some of the hole designs. The course did not live up to the hype. The greens had plenty of undulation but were not very fast or challenging to putt. Expected more from the greens especially after seeing Jack sink the 100 putt on hole 10. Only 2 holes that have a view of Lake Michigan which was disappointing. It makes me appreciate the club I play even more. Worth playing once but that is about it.

While on vacation in nearby New Buffalo, I played a round of golf here. I couldnt have been more impressed with every aspect of the course. The Jack Nicklaus design was incredible and offered a variety of "course types" - from holes built on sand dunes, or winding through marshlands and river, to some holes tucked in the woodlands. The course was in fantastic shape, and the staff couldnt have been more friendly. I will absolutely be making Harbor Shores a must-play course while visiting Harbor Country in the future. Ive played many great courses in the Midwest and Harbor Shores just jumped towards the top of the list.

I will be honest with you good people.Harbor Shores is good place to go golf and have very nice and clean views all the way around ! They have nice restaurant with bar and my wife works there and love it ! You want to see that the place your salf.I know they got professional costumer service and new management that are very friendly and happy. FOOD IS SUPER FRESH AND EXCELLENT GET TOGETHER FAMILY/FRENDS/WEDDING PARTY PLACE.RENT A GOLF CART TO PLAY GOLF OR JUST FUN RIDING. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. THANK YOU FOR READING. I thought the layout was bad. The design is bad even for a low handicap player. Bunkers in the middle of the fairways. Uphill blind stupid 2nd shots. I love Jack and his designs but I would rate this his weakest design. Maybe you have to play it a million times to figure it out? Greens are very undulated and if after two good shots you could be forced to 3 putt if you are on the wrong side of the hole.

Harbor Shores Golf is a nice course and priced to keep the local commoners out. We are very fortunate to have other better priced courses in our area where you get more golf for the money. Many courses just as nice as harbor Shores. I would caution people to not spend any money on gift cards with this course nor should you expect any response from them when you have concerns about their service.

World-class Nicklaus course with breathtaking views in every direction. Youll need every club in the bag (and then some) in this classic dunes/links layout. The clubhouse is first-rate and the staff is the best in the business.

Championship golf coarse and amazing food in the restaurant! I would recommend eating at the restaurant because they create there own recipes that are unique!

The Grille at Harbor Shores is delicious. Stopped here to get out of the hubbub of downtown st. joes. The salads are fresh and service was great!
