I have no idea how they have been hosting scout overnights here for 45 years. They way overbook, so there is no way to access the planned activities. Some of the bathrooms were out of order. The drinking fountain wasnt working either. The paperwork says we are supposed to be given a snack, but we werent. We werent even given a map of the ship upon check in. They have inadequate (but nice) staff and there are many things they could do working even in the confines of the existing facility to make it more comfortable. At $65 /pp, the food is inadequate, and you even have to buy your patch. If you attend a scout overnight here, you will be incredibly disappointed. I also would have appreciated knowing in advance that the ships are absolutely filled with lead paint, exposed lead on armaments, and loose asbestos on pipe wrap, tiles, etc. Basically everywhere. This place is unpleasant and unsafe for children, especially. I am shocked that it is allowed to be open to the public. If you have any kind of physical disability, forget about it. Some parts are interesting, but there is not much to do or a formal program, so you spend a lot of time being cramped and bored. This may be a worthwhile 2-3 hours if you are in the area, but not worth much of a drive, and I certainly do not recommend the overnight!! It is also impossible to socialize with your pack/troop due to conditions, so its not much of a bonding experience either. You will feel filthy in here as well. Your feet stick to the floor. The snack bar prices seem ok for day visitors, but absolutely gouging to overnight visitors, who cant even get a cup of water and arent supposed to bring food or drinks into the bunks.

Ive been there 7 times with my father, its what started my love for WW2 naval history. The collection of ships is huge, you could easily spend an entire day and still not explore everything. The sleepover program is great, in fact if you were considering going I would recommend sleeping over to get a larger experience. Theres a few rooms inside the Massachusetts that are full of hundreds of model planes, ships, tanks, and more. The Pearl Harbor Experience is also really cool. What makes Battleship Cove especially special is that there are 2 PT boats on land, which are the only 2 left in the world. The ships are also relatively upkept compared to some others Ive seen, there isnt a lot of rust or other potential safety hazards. Overall, a great experience for a 4-year old kid (like I was when I first went) or even a 95-year old WW2 vet :) (Note: If you live more than an hours drive away, youll either A) Need to get a motel/hotel and stay extra, B) leave super early in the morning to get there when it opens. I say this because it is not worth it to go because if you get there at say, noon, you wont have much time to experience it.)

It is amazing to see such a variety of combat vessels in only one place, including a Russian-design corvette, a submarine and a battleship. When I visited it there wasnt too many people, so I felt like doing what I wanted all throug the galleries of the ships, what is a really good thing. It also features a bar inside the battleship and a gift shop. It is, therefore, highly recommended for anyone who likes anything related to military, history or ships in general. I also think it is important to bear in mind that it takes at least a whole day to see all the things in the museum. However, if your visit is shorter, you wont be disappointed, thats sure.

I am a HUGE history nerd and it was a shock when traveling through the area on business I saw a battleship sitting under the bridge I was traveling on. Upon my return to Canada, I informed my family that this vacation year we are going somewhere that I wanted to go. I was not dissapointed! Pricing is very reasonable, the exhibits are all well taken care and very informative. THERE IS A BATTLESHIP!!! HOLY MACKEREL!!! I think as a kid I had a model of this ship! Being from a military family I really appreciate what these men went through and the sacrifice they made. If I was forced to complain, I would say the parking lot needs work :/

For $18 a person (at the time of this posting) you get to see 5 different ships. The battleship alone is huge (over 600 feet long with multiple decks). There is a cafeteria inside and the food wasnt bad. You could easily spend a day here. There is also a famous Carousel from 1920 on premise that has been fully restored and functional. The following ships USS Massachusetts (Battleship), USS Joe Kennedy Jr. (Destroyer), A Russian missile ship, A submarine and multiple PT boats as well. I may not have everything here but you get the idea. Note: The tour is self-guided with multiple videos along the way

Please follow us on Facebook at SNDTravels. What a cool place if you love history ( I do) and have some time. For only $25 you get to tour several navy vessels the USS Lionfish, USS Joseph P. Kennedy, USS Massachusetts, PT boats and more. I didnt have time as I go crazy at these types of museums and they might not find me for a week. The price is excellent as its cheaper than any one ship I have visited. Also in front is a 9/11 memorial and a small museum of the area. If youre around Fall River Massachusetts this is a great deal.

good experience -- but can be super claustrophobic -- If you sleep over remember all visitors have access to your stuff. Also if you sleep over bring ear plugs, get their early and pick the spot you want (you do not have to stay exacly where they asign you.) Overnight food similar to high school lunch. A folding chair might also help if you want to sit in sleeping area. Dog tags at gift shop is a cheap and nice momento(do this first thing to avoid waiting) Plan for a evening snack early as large lines form at movie time.

The whole family loves exploring the ships; the kids (ages 4-8) really love sitting on the 40mm quad mounts on the aft end of the main deck and using the training/elevating cranks (which actually work) to "shoot down imaginary enemy airplanes" -- and even my wife, who had no interest in military history until the first time the kids and I dragged her there, has gotten interested and finds it all fascinating now. We go a few times a year to spend a day exploring and learn new stuff every time.

This is such a great day trip. Ive been here maybe a dozen times in my life. Its always interesting and a great historical resource. The self-guided exploring of the ships and boats is really fun. Sadly, many of the ships are showing their age...rust and rot, weathered surfaces, rotting wood, etc... They really need restoration, which I would imagine is super expensive. I hope that these can be preserved for future generations to enjoy, its sad to see them deteriorating.
