Nice looking theatre with great sound. Unfortunately their policies for general admission events lack common sense. There were a lot of people saving multiple empty seats for friends who "just got up to get snacks or use the bathroom". I asked an employee if this was even allowed, and she said it was. She proceeds to tell me that all general admission events are like this and that people can hold empty seats for as long as they want. I told her that people can just put sweaters on the seats and pretend their saving the seat, and she even acknowledged that was allowed. Completely ridiculous! If you get up during a general admission event, you lose your seat! Common sense right? Not for the Wang Theatre. Im sure I wasnt the only one who felt this way during this event, the seat saving was absolutely out of hand. Also, the security to get in felt like TSA. Couldnt even bring in a bottle of water.

VERY SHADY OPERATION! I showed up with my two year and my six month old to see the Christmas Spectacular. For the past three years we have seen this at Radio City but wanted to try the local show out. To our surprise as we handed them the ticket they said our 6 month old needed a ticket. No other theater we have ever been to has this policy. It is always two and under is free. The manager was a scum ball and claimed it was for insurance and needed for the fire department. I say that is BS and do what the airlines do and have and have and infant on lap ticket. He tried to make me buy a full ticket. Come to find out the theater wasn’t full and I am sure it was ploy to get sales up. On another note. The NYC version of the Christmas Spectacular is 10 time betters.

Last night I attended The Alvin Ailey American Dance performance. The staff at the Wang were so rude! We were threatened of losing our $100+ seats numerous times during the event for getting up to use the ladies room during intermission. We would be forced to stand, if not back in our seats on time. The line to the ladies room was very long and once in there yelled at by the bathroom attendant to hurry back to our seats. The bar staff yelling at the attendees to "hug the wall" like it was a prison yard. I will never pay my hard earned money to attend another production at the Wang and be treated so rudely.

The Wang Theatre website is very sluggish and drops off when you need to get those crucial concert tickets. I have been on hold for 10 minutes on their call center line and the message keeps repeating Your estimated wait time is 1 minute. Their website completely failed to work when ordering concert tickets. Overall, the customer experience is very rocky and if they decide to sell tickets online at a certain time, then they should ensure their website can handle the traffic... If not, they should ensure they have enough people working at their call centers to answers calls. Very frustrating...

Security for the show we attended was terrible. Multiple bag checks with no communication amongst staff. Took 35 minutes to get through the door with our tickets in hand. Will call was apparently a mess. I understand a "no cell phone" policy but I got accosted for turning my phone off before the show - Im an adult and Im following you directions, so dont be a dick. The security staff then paced the aisles through the whole show, frequently blocking our line of site. Terrible, terrible experience.

We will NEVER again go to the Wang for any performance. We went to a Van Morrison concert (which was fantastic) but people were constantly getting out of their seats to get drinks from the various bars. For an hour and a half, there were always several people standing in the aisle, getting into their row, or walking back and forth, all to get drinks. They should have gone to a bar, not a concert! Very distracting and annoying to everyone else who was their for the concert and not the drinks.

Beautiful theater! Once inside you will see what I mean. The detailing and interior of this place blew me away. Saw a orchestral show hear and had a great experience. Temperature during the performance was great as well as our view, I was sitting in the first row of the mezzanine section. No issues with sounds. Sneak water and snacks in if you can and go to the bathroom before the show starts. During the intermission at the concert I went both lines were tremendously long.

DO NOT ever buy CitiCenter for the Performing Arts gift certificates for any performances at the Wang! They have outsourced their box office to third party vendors and it is impossible to use the certificate anywhere but at the box office in person. This means double fees for tolls, parking, gas, etc to get into the city to make reservations to see a desired show as well as a vendor tax on top of the outrageous performance prices charged.

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SPEAK TO A LIVE PERSON!!! There is a blizzard coming, and we are driving in from another state for a concert, and would just like to call someone to ask whether or not the show is canceled! It is Monday, and there is literally no way to contact a live person, except to buy tickets at the call center in Chicago. Absolutely unacceptable. I will NEVER purchase tickets to a concert at this theatre again.

Ornate and stunningly restored theater that was, I believe, originally built as a movie theater (when going to see a movie was a big deal). Name has recently changed to the Boch Center. Its a very large theater with multiple balconies, so live performances do not have the intimate feel that they can even on Broadway. Security seems to have been recently increased... Everyone was being "wanded" as they entered last night.

The venue is beautiful and it has a unique setup. However the bad seats are really bad. For a 64" guy I found the seats unbearably uncomfortable, worse than fenway. Also, the seats are not organized in a stadium like fashion so you can feel very far away, bring binoculars. They do play good shows here and the sound travels well. For the price and the poor seating I might only go back if its something Im dying to see.

We saw An American in Paris at the Wang last night and I have only one word to say for the entire experience: GORGEOUS. The show a visual feast of changing streets of Paris, super artistic and suggestive, yet very believable. The show was excellent...from the minute it started until the ovation. We loved it. The Wang is a beautiful theatre, which makes going to a show a special event.

I attended the J.A.M session West African Dance and it was much different than I expected. I thought it was going to be something I would just be watching but I was very wrong it was interactive and they were teaching us how to dance and use it as a form of exercise. The drumming was amazing and the atmosphere was very laid back, it was just a really nice way to spend a monday evening.

The building is great, staff is friendly, and seeing a concert here is quite an experience (though Nick Cave is always special), but the seats are SO close together. You can hear everyone on all four sides of you breathing. I understand the place was built when people were smaller, but it makes for a very uncomfortable experience of youre not 5 or under and rail thin.
