I rate Harmony with ZERO stars! My parents pre-planned with Harmony and when my Dad died, my Mom went to verify the grave site and pay for the opening and closing. She was devastated over his death and highly emotional about death, already. Miss Logan realized my Mom was not in a mindset to watch what she was doing and had her sign paperwork to purchase burial sites that cost 3-times as much as what was already paid-in-full before my Dads death. She got my Mom to give her $6,000 and sign a new contract with payments and didnt disclose the payment plan to her. I was not aware this had happened and during the burial, it struck me that he was in going to a different location but, I was also not fully aware. The next day I remembered and asked what had happened. My Mom still wasnt recovered. I looked at the paperwork and realized what had happened. When we Miss Logan, she insisted that my Mom wanted a better burial for my Dad. I was there when they purchased the original spaces and knew what we had all discussed and that she was wrong. She had taken advantage of my Mom in my absence. To make a long story short, we appealed to management. After a lot of back-and-forth efforts they offered to release her from the contract but, refused to refund any moneys. That was not enough. We demanded the refund, the space next to him and a burial marker. This they also refused. We appealed to the Maryland Office of Cemetery Oversight and it was then that Harmony agreed to our terms. Please remember that you have rights when it comes to final planning for yourself and your loved ones. Dont let thieves steal money that you should be using to go on with your life to line their pockets in your time of grief. Be alert and if you know you are grief-stricken, take someone with you that is able to watch out for you.

I had to report them to channel 9 News on them in Oct 2015. They havent aired it yet due to my son grave site was when I visit him on Sept 22, 2014. Make sure you take picture of what you seen. I have over (50) pictures regarding the whole centenary once my son called me and was upset. It was a mess they dont care about the graves sites they care about money. The employees in the office are not to bright and when I had to go so far as to cussing them out and once I told them channel 9 was interviewing me they had employees come outside and just watch me, whole attitude changed. Spoken with Mr. Thompson, promise that he would take care of the situation. But when you have a love one, I didnt speak just for my son I spoke briefly everybody. How could our love ones rest in peace if we not each time we visit our love one

We buried my mom at Harmony in 1998. Its been an absolute nightmare. You have no option you must pay for up keep, they fail to keep things up. It seems as though the owners have changed so many times. They are always under new management. I will never bury another love one there, as they are over priced and they do not keep the site up. I should not have to edge around my moms marker. They broke the flower vase and put a very sad replacement up. I have had to bury a few loved ones since 1998, I now go to Resurrection in Clinton. Im not Catholic, but they care and the place is always well kept. Not to mention the cost is much better. I have referred several people to them. If I could afford it, I would have my moms remains moved.

My husband was buried there in 2009. You have to visit the gravesite on a weekly basis. The groundskeepers, drive over the graves, breaking the memorial cups, cracking the plaques, and dumping dirt on the existing graves. What if it were their loved one? I have sat and watched these activities on numerous occasions and even waited three months for the replacement of my husbands cup which was damaged when it was run over and broken. I wanted to be buried there, but, now have chosen another cemetery, and know we will be reunited in heaven.

My relative was interred in 1934, at Columbian in NE DC, before it moved to this location at Landover, MD, in 1960. National Harmony has been taking good care of my relatives site.

I cannot in good-faith positively rate an establishment that would not support workers and allow a giant rat to go up on Mothers Day
