Management is not very professional. Inquired about hosting a party, but the manager was not there at the time, so I wrote down my contact information and asked when the manager would be in. I came back later when the manager was there and he responded like he was annoyed that I was even asking and that he didnt have time and hed contact me with the information I left. Granted, it was busy, but Id expect a little bit more professionalism from an establishment catering to patrons. I then never even received a call back. I ended up booking my party somewhere else, where they provided MUCH better customer service. In addition, I have never had to wait so long for a drink at any bar Ive ever been to in a mid-sized town. It literally took 15 minutes of waiting at the bar to get my first drink.

The Lift is my favorite bar in town. Its located on lower main, the perfect place for a night of bar hopping. There is a main bar area, a music area and the patio. The Main bar has a pool table and ATM. Fortunately they started to take plastic again! The music side is where youll find some of the best bands from all over. There is also a smaller bar. If youre looking for a specialty beer, order at the main bar. The patio has generous seating and is a great place to kick back, relax and enjoy the music on a warm summer night. There is usually a $5 cover when there is a band, but they usually give you a $3 drink ticket to use towards your beverage of choice. If youre looking for a fruity drink, ask for a Bob Marley. It tastes like a fruit roll up!

Apparently this use to be a decent place to hang out according to one of my friends. We were in Dubuque and stopped there for a drink. Going to the bar we ask for a menu and we are ignored for a while (the place has a total of 6 people there) then we are given a menu. We go back to order and are told that the place upstairs no longer is managed by the same place and we have to go up stairs and order the food to go and we cant eat it there. So really, why couldnt you have told us this when you gave us the menu? So my friend orders a beer, and receives a warm pale ale. The place upstairs is too busy for carry out. Waste of half an hour and a warm beer. Skip it, there are better places in the area.

Crowd varies by night. Pretty good place to stop by for one or two beers after work, usually pretty relaxed atmosphere. They have live music, not the best, but by far not the worst (plus they might open the second bar too). Prices are fairly competitive, and waitstaff is friendly.

Good drinks and fun times! The live music variety is awesome! Great atmosphere of an "Old" basement. Love stopping in at various times.
