My son and daughter-in-law had their wedding at White Pines. It was the worst experience of my life. Because my daughter-in-law wanted a tent wedding and White Pines was putting up a permanent tent, they decided to book the venue. Tent was promised to be up & running by August of 2015. Wedding date was June 10th, 2016. Plenty of time right???? They promised everything and delivered nothing. The tent venue was not "ready" until their wedding date!!! The permanent tent structure that was promised, was temporary, used and worn in some areas. The "Outdoor Terrace had newly installed sod (put down the day before), no florals at all, no lighting at all!!!! Bar tenders were few. The hors doeuvres were promised from 6-7:00pm, they were not served until 6:30pm!! Dinner was a joke . . . . . guests were given a choice of chicken beef tenderloin or vegetarian. Not one guest was asked what they had ordered. Dinners were brought out and placed in front of the guests, not knowing what they ordered. When the wait staff was told "I ordered steak," the guests were told they ran out!!!!!!!!! Now the steak was considerably more costly than chicken!!! Dinner was cold, carrots were basically raw, etc. Fifty percent of the lights on the ceiling were out. The bathrooms were horrendous; they were glorified out-houses!! Again, not what was promised. Nobody "cleaned" the "bathrooms" the entire night. The waste baskets were tiny and overflowing with used hand towels. The bride was in the bathrooms, picking up the hand towels off the floor and stuffing them in the waste baskets. You cannot expect 2-3 small waste baskets to accommodate 260 guests for 6 hours without emptying them throughout the night. Not once were the bathrooms checked on and waste baskets emptied!!!!! My son, on several occasions throughout the evening demanded to speak with management and was told she was gone for the evening and he should calm down!!! Two of the wait staff told my daughter-in-law the way this was handled was horrible; there was so much confusion in the kitchen, running out of food, etc, that they should be compensated!! Their employees told her this!!!! All-in-all I would NEVER EVER recommend this place for anything!! The management staff was inconsiderate and rude, when you could contact them, the service is horrible!!! They over-promised and under-delivered, but charged top dollar!! DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE!!!! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND IT WAS LIE AFTER LIE. FOOD WAS COLD, SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE!!!

Irish Goodbye

Had a golf outing that was rushed from the beginning. The course was fine minus the gravel golf path. The guy in charge was hounding everyone (60 golfers) to make sure we started right on time . I was still out with my group when I was notified that dinner was being served in 5 mins. This was at 2:30pm! We had guests coming who already paid just for the dinner. Expecting it to be served at dinner time, those people missed out. (I later learned this and would of definitely not have paid for those that missed dinner). We were rushed out of the banquet hall (selling minimal raffle tickets) and was told the guy needed the final check. I told him Id run to my car to pay him. As Im writing out the check, he followed me to my car and was breathing down my neck, like Im gonna dine n dash. This place still doesnt have their act together for golf outings. After three times, were going to a different venue.

A Private User

Went here for the first time this year and have to say I was truly impressed. Warm and spacious - this is a great way to keep your game in full "swing" over the off months. The staff, like the rest of White Pines, is excellent and not the snotty type of people you expect to be running a full on golf facility. Happy to drive from Chicago to use it. Matt Dollinger

The course if as best ok.short with small fairways and the greens are the same with some medium sized..It seems that people who come Here either are to lazy or dont know proper edict to repair divots or ball marks on the greens. The Rangers are not happy to be here either so it makes them pointless to be here

12 golfers in our group have golfed both the East and West Courses which are very well kept up and are challenging . The senior rate is most reasonable and includes a lunch sandwich. Non-alcoholic beverages are $2.00. There is also a dome in the winter on site to get out the winter rust.

Played the east course. I liked the greens..they were faster than other courses I have played over that past few days. You can tell this place sees a lot of traffic as per the conditions....divots etc. The sandwich I got at the halfway house was not very good.

Very well maintained. Has 36 holes and is playable. Have a great twilight rate. $20 to ride / $10 to walk after 5:30. Recently remodeled in restraunt with a very nice bar area. Usually play a couple times a month. Would play more but rates are a little on the high side.

It was way over priced for the condition the course was in. Some of the staff were not polite and it seemed they were not happy working there. The beverage cart was never to be seen and when we did, beer in the can was over priced. I give it a 3 out of a 10.

Golf courses (2 - 18 hole courses) are in good shape; greens better than expected. Golf carts are pretty well worn, cart paths and overall course manicure are a little rough around the edges. Decent course for the money.

Gravel cart paths turns you and everything you own dusty. The bunkers are absolute trash. Very inconsistent, many of them have barely any sand. Course drains horribly.

Great place to walk while chasing a little white ball. Food is fantastic at the 37th hole. The servers are incredibly friendly and really make you feel welcome.

Nice course. Was here for an outing. The staff was very nice all day, and the course was in pretty good shape despite some bad weather leading up to the outing.

Cart paths are horrible. But I dont have to hit off the cart paths. Greens are phenomenal. Fairways are fantastic. Beautiful golf course.

Paths are gravel and literally Im inhaling dust every hole. Everything is covered in dust. Otherwise, the course is decent.

No ranger = 5.75 hour round on a fairly quiet Sunday afternoon. Service in bar, at the turn, and in general was horrible.
