Went in after being embarrassed by the store down the street that I did not know what I was doing, and need to use ocean water, and will kill everything if I do not use ocean water. Its nice to go into a place and feel relaxed looking at all the wonderful sea life without being hounded. Let me tell you, this is BY FAR the best store in the area. I have been to all of them. They have the best selection of live coral and saltwater fish you will ever find. Tanks are clean and fish are super healthy. Just bought my second tank from here (210 gallon) and plan to stock it as a Reef Aquarium. I have been purchasing saltwater fish from here for the past 2 years and have not had one problem. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The owner is very knowledgeable and will give you an honest opinion. He has lots of experience and will guide you from the beginning. This store is a one stop shop that has everything! BELIEVE ME! However, they will not sell you something just to sell. No gimmicks here. They are very knowledgeable and know their stuff. THE REAL DEAL IN TOWN! I am looking forward to building my Reef Tank from here. Keep up the good work. Thanks

Poseidon has horrible customer service. You are not acknowledged nor greeted by anyone when you arrive. I always felt like an inconvenience when shopping there. No one asks if you need help, nor cares to even converse with you regarding your tanks. The tanks are not clean and scream for attention. We have made several purchases there and I feel that as a returning customer, you should make an effort to establish a relationship with people that frequent your store. THE WORST PART OF VISITING POSEIDON IS THE WOMAN AT THE COUNTER - extremely rude and void. Each time we have proceeded to check out, this is how we are treated: With no eye contact and not even a how are you? Or all set?, she takes our items/fish, rings them up and tells us the price (everytime, this never fails). I hand her the card for payment and then with my hand out to take my card back, she reaches over my hand and places it into the dish. It is sad that we stopped coming to this store because of customer service. If you had a smiling face and a friendly demeanor, Im sure youd have a lot more business - but youve definitely lost ours.

I am a fresh water African Cichlid keeper and this store has multiple 20 gallon tanks to keep smaller fish in and a pair of 100+ gallon tanks for their larger specimens. They ususally have a strong selection of reasonally priced juvenilles, which are hard to find anywhere and higher priced full grown fish. If I could set up a aquarium store it would look very similar to this one. I visit the store on a monthly basis from Orlando, which is about an hour trip one way to check out stock. The owner is very low key, but he is knows less about Africans than I had expected. He is more of a marine environment guy for sure, so if you are seeking that he knows his stuff. They have a number of fresh water tanks, but I would drop the schooling fish and concentrate on African Cichlids. I would agree that customer service could be improved, but with everything considered, I would rate it a 4.

This is the most horrible excuse for a fish store. First off the tanks are all infested with cyano bacteria. All corals look very sick. They do not take care of there tanks. Went in two different days three days apart and same dead fish in three different tanks! WOW. Really.... Then I bought a heater from this guy called him not even thirty minutes after purchase to tell him heater is too long.his response was bring it in I'll give you a refund. Well I did just that, brought back in and what did he give me....... A store credit. I need a heater now I told him and you do not have it. I need my money to go get it. His response nope!!store credit...... Bad business in my mind. I would not recommend this what you would call a fish store to my WORST enemy. So in just what I am saying....... DO NOT VISIT this horrible place.

This place is a bunch of SCAMMERS! DO NOT buy your feeder fish from this place. This is now the second time that i go here and i asked for 70 feeder fish and they give me only 30. The first time i let it slide then i went again to get another 70 fish and again i counted them in the store and he scammed me again. So i told him that there was no 70 fish in the bag and he told me that i was over reacting about it. Its my money it doesnt matter if its feeder fish or not. If a costomer is asking for a certain amount of fish and you are paying for it then you deserve to get what you pay for. Now i go and get my feeder fish from petsmart. I told them that i would never go back to that store, they lost my business for good. Youll see if you decided to get feeder fish from that place watch them theyll scam you too.

Best store in town. The staff is great and always friendly. I find some of the other reviews a little harsh. I would not suggest buying a fish anywhere that looks questionable. Thats on the buyer. Their stock is generally very good but they have A LOT of inventory so I would tell any fellow aquarist to shop smartly and not impulsively. Theyve been around for a long time and I have many old fish that have grown up in my tanks from them. If you dont quarantine you cant complain. Great selection of fresh and marine fish AND inverts corals and some plants as well. Their cichlids selection is as good as Ive ever seen outside of a farm. Worth a drive if youre within a couple of hours.

I have 5 freshwater planted aquariums and Poseidon Aquarium is an awesome store for finding more rare plant species and equipment specific for planted tanks. The staff is helpful and they provide great customer service if I have questions. Their livestock selection is one of the best in the area and their selection of marine fish and corals is great as well. I visit regularly and it is the main store that I go to for plants, fish, invertebrates and equipment. Prices are good as well and I would rather support a local business than order supplies whenever possible.

Their salt water selection is absolutely beautiful. They told us what fish we could put in while still setting up aquarium and are very helpful in suggesting what will work best for your tank. The more they know tank size and lighting the more they can help tell you what will work with your tank and not just tell you you have to have this expensive light because you just do. Compared to other aquariums this is just an amazing fresh and salt water aquarium store.

Their customer service seriously needs work! Just because your the only nice aquarium in town doesnt mean you can treat customers like garbage. We have spent way too much money there to not get helped, just left standing there while others got helped. Then not even a smile or a "thank you for shopping with us" upon check out. The dark haired gentleman is always helpful other than that dont expect customer service.
