Stanford golf course plays beautifully, especially in the early spring when not only the course is green but the surrounding hills. The course is impeccably maintained and has a good deal of variety, both in the fairways and approaches. The sand is lovely enough that you might not even mind playing from it. One small criticism: there is not much water on the course and what is out there comes inconsistently from water fountains with old pipes.

Beautiful, challenging golf course. Its hard to believe youre in the middle of Silicon Valley when youre out there. On a clear day, you can see San Francisco from the 18th tee. Greens are fast (much faster than local munis) and challenging. Back nine is hilly, get a pull cart if youre walking. Course is challenging but fair, and accessible if you put your tee shots in the right locations.

This is one of the nicest golf courses I have ever played on, but I must admit that I miss the student prices. Note that its a closed course so youll need someone with a Stanford affiliation (alumni counts) to play with you.

Great condition. Classic layout. A few awkward holes (back to back par 3s) due to re-routing many years ago. No frills clubhouse. Cool to see Tiger/Tom Watson memorabilia.
