Gleneagles GC has the bones of a great nine hole course, but unfortunately thats about it! Negatives: -Tee Boxes are not well kept. -Fairways are akin to a soccer field. Potholed, bare lies and uneven levels of trimmed grass. -Bunkers are not well kept. Positives: -The greens are ok, they would be the equivalent to the pace and roll of the TPC Harding 18 hole. -Good Practice conditions: most shots will be played above or below your feet, the fairways are tight and theres a strong wind that blows across the course to the west, which forces you to keep the ball low on some shots. Other points: -If you can drive the ball +250yds on average, you may only need your driver for the Par 5 sixth and hole number nine. This is not a monster golf course by any stretch. -If this course was as well kept as the Fleming 9 hole at Harding, it would be a better test of golf but its not even in the same league of conditioning. All in all, I can only see repeat players of this course coming back for nostalgic value.

This review is directed primarily at the newly added 18-hole disc golf course as well as the facilities, rather than the traditional golf tees. This place is a hidden gem in the middle of the city. Though there are some rough spots on the massive property, the owners have done an amazing job in revitalizing the greens and keeping the course looking great despite the fact that it doesnt get the traffic that it deserves. The clubhouse is a cool slice of history, and with the friendly staff its always a pleasure to drop in. Nice and unique views of the bay The new disc golf course is fun and uses the available space well without crowding greens, but theres rarely any crowding where that would become an issue. Top notch teepads and baskets. The course gets WINDY later in the day, which can be a welcome challenge, or not, depending on your mood. A diverse range of shots are needed to make it through the course, but unless youre and advanced player dont expect to come out even!

This is one of the most unique golf experiences in the Bay Area. Designed by Jack Fleming in 1962, who was a protege of Dr. Allister MacKenzie (Augusta, Pasatiempo, Cypress Point) this par 36 nine holer will test your golf skills while entertaining you with broad vistas of the San Francisco Bay and southern waterfront. Another advantage is that you can play in 2 hours most days. Tee times are walk up and there is rarely a wait. The clubhouse is one of the finest 19th Holes in all the golf kingdom and a fine place to relax and imbibe from a taste of Scotland. This is a favorite if local golfers for over 50 years.

When I played this course late Summer last year, it was all dried up with very few areas of green fairway. Also, the greens were rock hard. It made for a horrible round of golf having to hit off of mostly dirt fairways. I dont know what the condition of the course is nowadays, but hopefully theyve been watering it enough to give golfers green fairways to hit off of.

I spent many a pleasant ( and sometimes frustrating) hour walking this little gem of a course. Make no mistake, this is a true test of golf and though it is nine holes the markedly differing tee boxes make both nines quite challenging. Do not fail to end your day in the club house, perhaps with a glass of single malt!

Gleneagles is a fantastic track and rarely busy. Its not always in the best condition, but in some ways this is part of its charm. Some people worry about the location, but Ive never had any issues over the past ten years. If you want a stern test of golf with a lot of character, you cant go wrong with Gleneagles.

This place is very interesting. They have regular golf and foot golf. Foot golf is with a soccer ball. If its windy the get blown everywhere. The place needs some serious TLC but a fun place to check out once or twice. No food is available.
