GCU Golf Course is a great experience. The renovations made after the college took over are impressive. New bunkers have been strategically placed along the fairways and the greens have been elevated substantially. The greens are larger and have more slope. The clubhouse is attractive and clean on the inside. The course definitely feels more like a championship venue, challenging skilled golfers while still being accessible to beginners. The fairways were lush and well maintained. The greens were very smooth and probably ran at a 9 or 10 on the Stimpmeter, which was a perfect pace. I liked the old Maryvale and I like the new course even better!

I played the course last weekend, the fairways are half dead, the low lying areas and drainage areas are like swamps and the greens are very bumpy. You get few flat areas to hit from when you hit the fairways, and play is very slow. You get to use your Phoenix discount card there, but dont get credit towards a free round, and you pay a higher price than the Phoenix. courses. Too bad, it was a great old course.

Went here to practice. Good grass if they are not using mats. Targets are shaped like greens. There is no drinking water which is nuts considering its been 110° out. If you are local to the area its a good spot to practice. If you are looking for a great place to practice go to Whirlwind or Southern Dunes AK Chin.

Wow what a great experience. I havent played Maryvale for over 7 years so it was a new experience and a good one at that. From the Pro Shop to the starter and finally the restaurant everything was great. Thanks Grand Canyon for a great day. My foursome is planning to play next week - see you soon.

Played this course a few times years ago, couldnt believe the make over. The course is beautiful and challenging. Cant complement the staff enough. From the time we pulled up until we left they were all smiles and helpful in anyway they could. Awesome experience! Thank you!

Greens and tees are good fairways were dead TONS of bare spots around the greens, bunkers look good but no sand on the bottom and they charged us $27 bucks at 3PM when it was 118 outside not impressed

Top-notch facilities and great prices, with the feel of a golf course youd normally have to venture out to Scottsdale or Deer Valley for. The upgrades are definitely nice after the reconstruction.

They did a fantastic job with the reconstruction. A real gem. Only problem will be the slow play do to the number of sand traps. Im not sure how they can fix that. 5 hour rounds are frustrating.

Good breakfast burritos. Signage could be better. Holes are not always easy to find. Greens, fairways, and tee boxes in great shape. Overall very good value.
