I was a Twin Lakes regular until a fellow golfer prompted us to play early this spring. Honestly, this course is significantly nicer in layout and general condition than Twin Lakes. You pay a bit of a premium but for how frequently I play during the Middle Atlantic season, its inconsequential. Im a 15 and play weekly. Ive read some remarks here and there re complaints about service. For the past two months Ive played at LH, Ive found the staff and rangers completely pleasant and reasonable. Does somebody whos smuggling booze on the course or clogging up foursomes behind you expect to be high fived? Rudeness is probably not necessary but frankly I would be the one who should feel ashamed if Im caught red handed with my own hooch. (And believe me, Ive done that before elsewhere.). As far as the slow play, get your a$$ in gear and stop dawdling with your 115 swats. Lastly, the course has been a tad wet of late. I suspect the ball marks are more plentiful than usual for the dog days of summer. All in all - good job LH!

I usually do not write reviews so take this from a legitimate posting. Not bad, course was decently maintained. After the 8th hole we were confronted by the "marshall" to speed up as we were supposedly 11 minutes behind pace (mind you cart path only). The way we were told to speed up reminded me of being chastised in middle school by the principle. It was completely unprofessional and was not pleasant whatsoever. After the confrontation we just felt rushed to go as fast as possible. But keep in mind for $100.00 per player on a 100F day I was pretty shocked. My brother rented clubs, bought a glove etc his outing was close to $200.00. I write this post in regards to the experience. Once we were rudely told to speed up although we were still on pace per the golf cart notifications after the front nine 1 hr 12 min (we were 4 minutes over max) it was completely out of line. All in all it was ok. But for the money being pressed like that and ruining the rest of our outing you cannot put a $ value on that.

Laurel Hill is a nice layout, although a bit Kafka-esque with its curious selection of old Lorton prison structures scattered about (along with several hideous, newer condominiums from the Warsaw Pact School of Design). Weaknesses are the brusque staff who strive to ensure that they behave in a manner befitting a county employee and a cart-path policy that permits access to the fairways at least twice annually, as best I can tell. Holes are challenging and generally very well-maintained, but taking a cart here can actually result in more exercise than simply carrying your bag. Its a rare round that I dont knock down an 8-iron as a pleasing alternative to the 100 yard walk back to the cart.

Really well maintained course. Tons of sand. Challenging but not punishing. Bring a lot of balls though; if you lose one you arent finding it. Greens are very true. Decent rates. Used the driving range, large bag of balls comes with enough balls for 3 people. Lots of birds and rabbits on the course. Lots of plaques talking about the history of the area as well, which is pretty cool. I will be back!

Price seems a little high ($79) for this time of year when the course is not in great condition and it plays cart path only, eve for folks would have a disability. This is a very hard course physically when you have you walk a lot. Still, it is a very nice course. Lots of challenge. Every hole seems to be up hill.

This is a wonderful course. Good for any level golfer. Greens consistently roll smooth. Plenty of room off most tees if you dont hit it straight. Some par 5s you can overshoot the green and have an easier 4th shot if your second found trouble. Dont go over the green on 2.

Love this golf course. Challenging. In superb condition since late April. Wish they had one more set of tees, however, between the 6,000 yd choice and the 5,000 yd tees. A nice short game area to practice chips, pitches and sand shots. Cant wait to play it again!

This is an absolute hidden gem. I have been looking for a nice course and the reviews convinced me to try it. OMG, every hole is fantastic from the tee box view. Dont think about it, just try this place and see if you dont drop your jaw.

Unbelievable quality for a public golf course. Lots of hills and plays very long, the greens are in great shape and not a lot of water. I would definitely recommend it!

Terrible. Crowded when cart path only. People misbehave, shouting.. Marshals did nothing..
