Lucky for wing lovers there is a place in Phoenixville with both the consistency and daring to make sublime hot wings. The Bistro on Bridge is succeeding in a location that has proven hard for former restaurants. With a successful club upstairs and great food and big TVs downstairs they will hopefully have continued success. While all that’s nice I go there for one thing: the wings. BistroWingsKevin, the cook usually working on football Sundays, takes his wings personally. I learned this the hard way and it is a lesson I am truly grateful for. The waiter smiled smugly when I ordered six of their “hottest” wings. The wings came out smothered in a deadly looking black sauce that wafted an eye-watering gas composed of cayenne and habenero peppers. I asked him what they were, because I had not seen wings this dark at the Bistro before. He asked if they were going to be too hot for me. “No,” I said with cocky certainty, “I’ll be fine.” I cried a little. I won’t lie. Practically the whole bar watched in mute horror as I cleaned my plate of those devilishly hot wings. It seems that I was the guinea pig for something Kevin was trying out. After carefully washing my face and hands I went in the back to congratulate him on a job well done. Turns out he was more than a little upset that I was able to finish these wings. He took it as a challenge and went back to the drawing board. (for complete review, see website)

Ate here several times last year and the service was much better at the bar. Took my two teenagers to eat in the dining room area once. When we came in the the "hostess?" did not acknowledge us for several minutes and when she did , she halfheartedly asked "do ya want a table?". What did she think we were standing there for? I realize this place is fairly casual but her disinterested demeanor and slovenly outfit-flip flops and ill fit ting bottom of the dirty laundry pile sleeveless (dress?)- did not represent well for this establishment. The "hostess" literally slapped the menus down on the table and mumbled so incoherently (then just turned on her heel and walked away) that we all asked each other: "what did she just say?" However, we had a nice table looking out at the street traffic and the server was much better than the "hostess". Food was excellent, as it was when my husband and I had eaten at the bar- you have to try the risotto balls. My advice to the bistro is replace your hostess-she is not at all a good front face person-maybe she should try dishwashing. Otherwise, good eatery. Ill be back to give it another try.

I owe the Bistro an apology! I was SO Pleasantly Surprised about this FAMILY FRIENDLY spot! I have been to the Bistro for Wings and Burgers and sat in the bar area a few times in the past. The atmosphere was a little bit "divey" but the bar food was always good and the beer was cold. However, I must admit I was VERY skeptical when we stopped in on a Saturday night with our 3 kids (all under 4) and my in laws to sit in the dining room. The decor is a little disjointed, and my expectations for the family experience were very low. Boy was I wrong! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating and the food, particularly the reasonably priced kids menu, was fantastic. The adults ordered sandwiches and were generally pleased but the kids chicken fingers and mac and cheese were the showstoppers! The kids were lucky they got any of their own food because the adults had so much trouble keeping our forks out of the homemade mac and cheese and crispy chicken. My side dish of cheesy bacon cauliflower was no loser either!! In short, Bistro, I am sorry I underestimated you and we will return with our family again!

in all fairness... the placed looked very nice, but we all know that salt and sugar looks just alike! i wish i could say how good the food was or that the drinks were great... but guess what??? I COULDNT GET ANY FRICKEN SERVICE!! honestly this is the first place ive been to since 1995 in this little town right below south of the border that ive actually FELT black. i would hate to say that racism or favoritism played any part in this but wow when you stand at the main bar waving a $20 for 5-10 literal minutes to no avail, then when your best friend who happens to be Caucasian walks up to see whats taking so long with the drinks you pass him the money and he gets immediate service... well theres something that gets the old brain clicking. only thing i can equate to this experience was when i watched a homeless man who just collected his $500 winnings from the lottery try to catch a cab.. No worries Bistro on the Bridge, i will never darken your doorway never again. (haha... the black guy said darken lol)

Great weekly promotions, and their ghost wing challenge is actually challenging and fun! The place is new and clean - its great for Phillies games. Servers / bartenders are one of the main reasons I choose this place out of any others on bridge street (besides the fact that they are the first place to start the $5 Martinis during Happy Hour). Also saw a cool band perform there at one of their monthly Pub Crawls. Then there is a club upstairs too (Club 212); it was an eventful night with plenty of fun! If you have never visited the Bistro, you HAVE to! and if you have visited, you know you will be back for such a great food menu and beer specials!! I actually work down the street at another bar, but I love this place for many reasons - the Bistro will always have me coming back!

Ive been there twice now and the service was not good. First time we waited 5 minutes at the hostess stand and no one ever came around. Recently we were there for First Friday and were seated promptly. Our server never brought our wings out. He explained that they were busy and we waited for an hour for our food. Never checked in on us, never explained what took so long while other tables were sat and left. Finally he tells us that its his first shift. I cant believe they would put a rookie on one of their busiest nights. I will never go here again and be sure to never recommend this place to anyone. Its too bad since I live in the borough.

Second time eating here. First time for dinner and now for lunch. Great experience both times. Outside this time for lunch. They have a special bloody Mary menu... Awesome. Had the Asian wrap for an appetizer, panini and Tuscan burger after. All of it delicious and quickly delivered. Extensive beer list. Chelsea served us and she was courteous and attentive. 2 Marys, 2 beers for $69. No complaints.

They have awesome specials through out the week especially their wing nights on Monday! Soooo delicious and a ton of flavors. $5 for most martinis (try bubble gum!) and always worth it to get their fries. Ive only eaten appetizers there but Ive heard their entrees are good also! Everyones so helpful and its always relaxed in their. Id recommend for anyone to check it out for a drink or dinner even!

4th try...want to like it but not consistent. Also Seems diet/allergen friendly but too may contaminents. Shared dryer with shellfish bread etc. Service gas gone down over past couple years too. The good ones seem to have split. Good luck if you try it. Have 3 stars on account of you have no dietary needs and they seem to be trying!
