I wasnt a fan of 100% of the art. But I was definitely a fan of the salesperson who was trying to get us to purchase the art. And, quite honestly, thats what I think should be rated for this gallery. I have been fortunate enough to witness true high class salesmanship a couple times. Once was at this incredible perfume store in Paris. When my wife and I entered, the salesman assumed we were interested in what the store carried, and he was interested in informing our curiosity. Whether or not we ultimately bought something was unimportant. It spoke to a confidence in what he had to offer. The salesman at the Jonas Gerard Fine Art gallery was the same way. I expressed an interest in one of the paintings, and he informed me about the painting. There was no sizing me up as a real buyer or not a real buyer. That kind of touch in the sales experience makes this a great place to visit.

My wife and I visited Jonas Gerards gallery today and were mentally blown away. I had never seen abstract art that "spoke" to me before today. Whether it is the color or the form or both, I have not yet figured out. I just know that we spent two hours there and could have stayed all day. We were lucky enough to met Mr Gerard as we entered the gallery and spend some time with him and look at his art together. Listening to his comments probably helped being moved by his art. We also saw a portrait he did of his daughter at 16 and were deeply aware of his love and emotion in the painting. Do yourself a favor and visit his gallery. You may discover a feeling like I did today. I will be going back with the intention of adding some of his art to my home.

My kids loved this Art experience! Jonas allows you to touch everything in his studio, he and his staff were so kind to my kids. Jonas asked them questions and let us take pictures with him and the nice lady in his studio showed my kids where he painted his work and explained the different mediums he used to create his art. Would highly recommend visiting so as to give your kids an exposure to abstract art and to teach those left brained children an appreciation for art in general.

Love at first sight! The range of color and emotion is inspiring; watching Jonas paint, or speaking with him is a fascinating glimpse into his heart and soul. Take some time to wander through this wonder of Asheville in the River Arts District, talk with the staff or with Jonas, enjoy the eye candy, and take some home with you-its an experience you will not forget.

Awesome gallery, fantastic pieces of art and of course the artist himself hast at work. This place is amazing and If you only decide to stop at one gallery this should be it. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, they trat you like family and the art work by Jonas is amazing!

I attended a live painting performance where I saw Gerard throw paint on a canvas for 35 minutes and slap an $11,500 price tag on it. Simple, easy, talentless. I see better art hanging in the walls of my childs Kindergarten class.

Jonas Gerard has single-handily raised the notch in Ashevilles River Arts District. If you like tropical vibes and folk-rooted art definitely put your boots on and go check out this gallery down by the rail-road tracks.
