Fly Creek does have a huge marketplace store which includes at least a hundred different dip mixes (sampling is encouraged), all sorts of james and creamed honey and hot sauces and salsas, cake and bread mixes, apples, fudge, and yes local cheeses (I really liked the Applewood Smoked Sharp Cheddar). It was a lot of fun snacking through, trying so many products of New York state. They also have various fruit wines and hard ciders. Nothing says fall to me as much as fresh apple cider- and the pamphlet even offers you coupon for a free tasting of an apple cider slushie! They also had a back area where you could feed geese and ducks. The kid in me was so so thrilled to have them nubbing out of my hand. I was very stubborn about feeding them- I had not a single quarter, but then found a change machine by the barn and tried several different dollar bills (doing the normal trying to straighten and smoothing in between tries- turns out you dont have to go through this because the snack bar you can also buy cups of the corn kernals). What can I say, I was very very determined to get more quarters so we can feed all the ducks and geese along the fence, not just the ones by the deck over the pond. I was also very into even distribution among the fowl. But it was worth it! They had a interesting variety of geese and ducks, including ones I have not seen before.

To all of those liberals complaining about the woman who was asked to cover up while breast feeding, need to really just shut up! Yes it is natural but this is a family-friendly business. My family and I make a trip every year to this place, every fall for the last 10 years. This place is one of the few establishments that offers a warm, diverse in products, family fun day. The pond is beautiful; the items the store offers are one-of-a-kind. I have never had one complaint about this place. I cant praise this business enough. In a time where family-friendly businesses are a rarity, this place is a breath of fresh air. This is not a huge establishment, size-wise, so it is ALWAYS CROWDED. I cant even imagine trying to breast feed my baby in the store because of the crowds. FYI: I AM A MOTHER MYSELF! I would take my baby out to the comfort of my own vehicle or on one of the benches outside away from the crowds. The bathrooms are located outside and they are very roomy. I dont want my son to see some random womans breast. Whenever I breast fed my baby, I would have the decency to cover myself up or go where its quiet because 1) I respect others and 2) I like quiet time with my child. Please dont let these silly comments affect anyones decision to visit this establishment. It is truly a great time!

Been coming here for over 25 years now. I live in New Jersey but my family has a second home near by to Fly Creek. It gets really crowded in September/October and most times you have to wait in a long line outside the store. They only let so many people in at a time and its common to wait twenty plus minutes this time of year. They have cider samples as your waiting in line to ease the pain. Over all a great place but the doughnuts have changed since the original recipe. The new ones they have been mass producing are horrible and leave an after taste and waxy film in your mouth. The original recipe was so light and fluffy with no unnatural additives. Really wish they would bring back the old recipe. The cider on the other hand is the best in the New York and New Jersey area by fair. Go to the store first then the snack bar. There are always coupons for the snack bar on your recipe. Place is slightly over priced but they do offer loyalist program for rewards if you are a regular.

This was a nice little place to visit with family. Everything was very aesthetically pleasing. The buildings were nice and I liked the setup. There were many different dips and sauces to browse. Along with cheesees, wine, and fudge. And the prices werent too bad. Though nothing really interested me, my girlfriend really liked it. The biggest shortcomings for me was the food available at the little snack shack place. Firstly, it was all very expensive for what you were getting. Secondly the food was mediocre at best. And the pie was extremely displeasing. For such a pleasant and quaint place I was not expecting canned filling. I guess I expected too much. I wouldnt say not to visit. It is definitely pleasing to some. Just dont expect too much. And if youre looking for food I suggest you check out other establishments in the area.

I had the privilege to visit upstate NY in July. While in central NY near Cooperstown, I found out about a lovely little gem-of-a-destination. The Fly Creek Cider Mill is as must-visit if youre in that area. The Mill takes you back to the days of old. Although the Cider Press wasnt operating during my visit because apples werent ready for harvest, they have a wonderful Cider Mill Gallery with a super video of the entire process. Beyond that, the entire Mill is full of unique gourmet food items, and they allow sampling of all kinds of neat things. Their fudge is the best!! But what really got me was the Mill Aged Cheddar Cheese. We took some home and enjoyed it during Happy Hour with some interesting crackers they sold at the Mill, too. I cant wait to visit family in New York next year..and return to this magical place.

As a nursing mother, I was appalled to be told to cover up despite being discreet. Heres a "family-friendly" establishment known for their snacks telling a snacking baby to eat under a blanket! It was humiliating to be called out on nourishing my child because it made another customer uncomfortable. The manager said they have to respect their customers feelings. Although I went there monthly with my family and was myself a loyal customer, I feel like my feelings were disrespected. By not offering any type of apology or understanding, Fly Creek Cider Mill is apparently unsupportive to breastfeeding mothers.

Cider Mill, Cidery, Winery, Distillery, Farm Market - they do it all at Fly Creek Cider Mill. The best part is you can sample for FREE all of their beverages: hard ciders, wines, spirits, fresh cider. They also sample 40 food products daily for FREE. Handmade fudge, aged cheddar cheese, pies, fry cakes and of course apples are all the best quality. This is a family owned and operated Agra-business which not only focuses on local NY state products, but also employees many local people. I will visit them any time I am in the Cooperstown area, NY needs more small businesss like this!!

No matter how lovely or quaint the scenery may be, it cant make up for poor human relations and attacking nursing mothers. It is natural. Let the babies eat. People like you would probably try to shame Mary for nursing baby Jesus if you could go back in time. Havent you heard that youll catch more flies with honey than vinegar?! Well what mass of customers are going to come to you knowing you discriminate? I hope you can change and your business can recover after this appalling behavior
