After attending a wedding at The Merion in April of 2011, I knew it was the place I wanted to have my own wedding. And just 4 years later, The Merion proved to me again that they are the place for the ultimate dream wedding! The grand hallway with the beautiful wrought-iron staircase leading to the Skylight ballroom is just oozing the utmost elegance. Then theres the dome, which reflects everyone on the dance floor at night and is absolutely breathtaking! During the planning process, Stephanie Lewis helped me with everything under the sun and her insight was extremely valuable to me. When I requested to have Mikes Hard Lemonade at the wedding, Stephanie not only said yes, but asked me which flavor I liked best! The night of the wedding, Stephanie even helped my girls figure out how to bustle my dress, in which the seamstress forgot to add the buttons for it. As for the food, if youve ever attended a wedding here or heard from someone who did you would know that The Merion gives impeccable service and the cocktail & dessert hour are ridiculous! Before booking our wedding at The Merion, we compared the food they offered to 8 other venues in the South Jersey area and NONE of the other venues offered nearly as much as them. And dont think that the quantity of food affected the quality of it because the food was hot and absolutely delicious! Not only that, but it was unique too. Such as a butlered dessert of cookies and milk or ice cream sandwiches, it truly stood out as different and innovative. Last, but certainly not least, the staffs professionalism and effort put forth that night made it completely outstanding! My husband and I had our own server who was amazing and she made sure my drink was filled no matter where I was in the building! Even the maitre de helped us when we went to take nighttime photos with sparklers on the outdoor patio. The maitre de lit the sparklers and stayed with us the entire time we were out there! Our family and friends are still calling to rave about the wedding and I have to say that if you are looking for a very memorable venue, The Merion is it! Thank you to everyone at The Merion for making our day so beautiful!!!

The wedding venue was wonderful. Food and service was great. I am giving a one star (I would give no stars if that was an option) because of my experience with the valet parking. When we pulled in they made it seem as valet parking was the only option so I let them. They gave me a ticket to present at the end of the night to get my car back. When I went to get my car back there was no one around at all. I finally saw someone in the back talking on his phone. I waved him over and asked if he could please get my car, he takes my ticket and walks off, lighting a cigarette as hes leaving. When he brings my car back there is a sheet of ice on my windshield making it impossible to drive until cleaned off. He drove with the window down and his head out of the window to get the car to me. Then he just walks off. I was a little taken back that he didnt even offer to help scrap the ice off my car. Anyways I get in my car, which now vividly smells of cigarette smoke, to get my ice scraper and then I proceed to scrap all the ice off my windshield while this valet guy just sits and watches me. Ok, now for the worst part, when I go to plug in my iPhone to the audio cord so I can play my music......my iPhone 7 audio adapter is GONE. It is 100% always in the same place in my car and always attached to the audio cord. I drive off and park my car a little ways down to check the rest of my car to make sure it really wasnt in there. It wasnt. the next morning I had my friend double check my car as well and the audio adapter wasnt there. The valet who took my car was a larger guy and on his shirt it said some sort of manager. He was very unpleasant, should maybe learn to not smoke while on the job, and should NOT be stealing out of the cars hes parking. Beautiful place in every other aspect but if you go there. DO NOT LET THEM VALET YOUR CAR.

The food here is great, the staff is pleasant and accommodating, and the venue is wall-to-wall photo opportunities. There is an outside area with a new bridge over a small pond, columns, and an area for outdoor ceremonies. There is also an enclosed garden type area with fire pits for smokers. Inside there is a grand staircase and a beautiful, long corridor. The ballrooms are as large as you need them to be, and the Starlight Ballroom features a beautiful glass dome skylight. Valet parking is always available. There is an elevator for your elderly or infirm guests. Cocktail hour hot food stations are plentiful and pleasantly attended. The bars are generously appointed. The staff is adamant about no two brides ever seeing each other, which is important because the facility hosts multiple weddings simultaneously, so things are carefully scheduled. My only complaint would be that its a little hard to hook the turn to enter the facility, and with many vehicles (cars, buses, and limos) coming and going, navigating the front drive can be harrowing. But Google Maps will guide you there no problem, and once youve sampled the delicious food and danced the night away, the drive will be quickly forgotten!

I recently had a wedding at the Merion, it sucked. Susan Aita was my coordinator and she never even showed up to my event do to her unexpected PERIOD! In response to all the things that went wrong at my wedding the Merion took no ownership for their actions and responded to me with an excuse for everything and they quote "We never promise a “perfect” night; that would be unrealistic. What we do promise is that your evening will be beautiful and your guests will have a great time ( which mine did not). It sounds like we accomplished our goal. (Bull) We wish you all the best in the future; and we apologize if your evening was not as you expected. Sincerely, The Merion owners and managers" I feel for all brides that are looking to have a wedding their, be prepared they do not deliver the details that they promise, and they will not make good on it they will just take your money and run, and say Have a nice life!!

I can not speak on the entire Marion staff but one of the managers Jim Berk is a complete JERK. I'm a vendor and I deal with banquet staff quite often and whenever I find out that one of my brides is getting married at the Marion I cringe knowing that ill have to see tiny little Jim Berk and his Napoleon complex. He treated me so very rude, like I was beneath him. While there I heard him belittle his staff for honest mistakes. Jim Berk must lead a miserable life and he needs to learn how to speak to people. Also, the entrance to one of their banquet rooms for vendors is through the kitchen. The kitchen was filthy disgusting! I would never eat any food that came out of that place! I suggest if your a bride planning to get married their ask to see the kitchen first. Since I am in the wedding industry I will be talking brides out of having their special day at the Marion.
