Best sites to book for tent camping are X014 and X016. Both are surrounded by trees and the bathroom is close enough with dish washing sink but not right by you. If you go to the river side and during low tide you will see seals laying on rocks in water every day. The Horseshoe is right down the street and has decent food and entertainment, best meter parking is along side ocean to the right side of the Horseshoe area as you will need to drive behind the builds and pull all the way up to sand. Better fireworks at the Horseshoe and less hassle then going over the Hampton Beach on the 4th of July. Save yourself the headache of being surrounded by too many people and a traffic nightmare. I come here multiple times to tent camp in the summer. The location is great. Drive 15 minutes up route 1 and go to Market Basket for food items. Better prices then Walmart. In the new plaza where Walmart now is there are tons of new stores that all just opened. Rows W and X seems to have the best camping sites from site 001 to 020. You really wont go wrong with any of them in this location. You can actually tent camp at any site here even if it lists an RV pic when your booking only thing is if your in a tent around the RVs you feel a little awkward. The middle two buildings (by the store) have renovated showers and are better then the large main shower house. As far as being told you cant bring in outside wood everyone still does. The campground store prices are ridiculous and if I forgot something I rather drive to a real store then buy from there.

Nice clean beaches and stunning ocean views . Ample parking basic amenities. The water is crystal clear and very cool and refreshing for a swim. ¨The campground was pretty crowded when I was there the grounds were very dry everything was just not very clean it was very dusty looks like it hasnt rained in forever, and nothing was very Lush and green. Hardly any trees, no shelter from the sun. Although many people to come and visit this park the rules are not enforced very well in the staff dont seem to patrol the area enough especially in the common areas because Ive noticed dirty diapers laying around in the shower area which is pretty gross the shower area was not maintained the floor was not clean, used soap and shampoo bottles, toiletries staff needs to do something? Also dog crap I saw lying on the Road shoulder and alongside the walkways its everywhere people need to be more responsible management need to enforce it. The boardwalks weathered and old and not very safe to walk on you can trip on this stuff really easily hopefully they get replaced and or repaired in the near future. That portion of my review is for the management hopefully it grabs someones attention. ***Make sure you bring some insect repellent this time of the year they have these large green biting flies they are everywhere and just very pesky and then at night there are gnats that bite also so be prepared***

Mainly this is an RV park. A really nice State park, but questionable for “camping”. If traditional tent camping and quiet solitude is your desire, look elsewhere. We felt like we were camping in a Walmart parking lot between the traffic, and the only view being huge, ugly RVs as far as the eye can see. There were like 10 RVs for every tent. Zero privacy, you are all on top of each other with almost no trees, shrubs or barriers of any kind. Basically like camping in a big sandy parking lot. Radios blaring, kids on bikes racing all over. There is a very busy road circling the entire campground. Traffic going to a public boat launch goes right through the park and was non-stop all day. Also, its NOT "waterfront camping" as advertised, or anything close to it. The camp is surrounded by a grassy marsh. Its near the water, but you have to drive or hike to a beach that allows swimming. Pros: Nice location once you get off the Campground proper Spaces are very large Close to the water A great public beach nearby Nice store onsite open every day Cons: Our site was littered with trash. They do not clean up between visitors. Busy, noisy environment. A LOT of car traffic well into the night. Grills and fire pits were old rusty junk

Nice beach with fairly soft white sand, but quite cold water, especially early in the season. The boardwalk area downtown (a ten minute walk north of the Reservation) is a bit honky tonk but offers casual (very) family restaurants, arcades, etc. for kids you may have in tow. Unlike some other beaches north of Boston (Cranes, Singing Beach, Good Harbor, etc.), theres no need to worry about the "Greenheads" - flies (similar to horseflies) that spawn in mid-July that tend to be quite aggressive biting you. Not particularly painful, but very annoying and can wreck a beach day. Ive never experienced them at Salisbury. Again, unlike some other beaches north of Boston, the parking area is quite large and rarely gets filled, so youre not likely to get turned away at the gate. Price is typical; i.e., a bit on the expensive side. $15 for MA residents, $20 all others. Street parking is free on the right side of Beach Rd. as you head to this Reservation, but difficult to find. Luck is definitely needed.

This state “reservation” was a pleasant surprise. I expected a massive parking lot on a sandy windswept beach and, since I was there Labor Day weekend, more than a few rowdy parties. In fact, it is somewhat grassy between campsites, there as some rather large trees (though very little real shade), and any rowdiness came from the families with small kids who arrived Saturday morning. A nice beach is separated from the campground by large dunes and a large day-parking lot; the inlet and bay area are on the other side of the campground, rather scenic with spectacular sunsets! The facilities were among the best I saw on a long road trip. Campers were friendly and respectful of one another. All in all, a nice place to be, even when full to capacity on a holiday weekend.

A great beach offers plenty of parking and a few restrooms in each parking lot. We like the beach area by the moutof the infamous river.. You can watch the boats comings and goings out the mouth sans the horror shows of doing soi when youre at the helm. Angelers everwhere its a great and entertaining spot. We live in NH And find the annual fee far more Affordable than paying each time you visit. When you havethe pass the wave you on through the long lines waiting to get in. Mass seniors get in for free.and for the physically challanged special wheelchais are available at no cost and almost always available. A gtrst mix of campers, Swimmers, Beach strollers, not to mention private functions and cookout facilities. Sakisbury reservatiin is one if our favorites.

I visit here regularly to birdwatch and know this place well. The place is kept up OK during the summer months and tourist season. But as soon as the park shuts down, littering and irresponsible dog owners make this place less enjoyable. Most dogs are off-leash and you will be lucky not to step into dog poop including the playground area. The park rules are clear but simply not enforced. Another point of criticism, is access for bike riders, pedestrians, especially children. Beach Road is typically extremely busy and dangerous to cross to get onto the access road; it is only common sense to have a pedestrian crossing marked in. The town of Salisbury and the state just fail to make this site enjoyable for everybody, not just tourists who leave their cash behind.
