Great place to learn about the past, to bike, walk, or run with kids or without. Lots of bird watching available, especially raptors (all year) and herons (more summer). There are often events here and it is within walking distance of some old rail cars, too. The trail it is located on connects to a much larger/longer trail system that runs from Castle Rock all the way up through Denver, most of it along Cherry Creek and other water systems. Great place year round for out door activity.

If you like Colorado history or the story of western expansion then this is a great little place to spend and hour or two with the family. Its also a popular spot for photographers to take their clients so expect to see cameras and poses all weekend long. Follow the trail from the farm house to a bicycle/walking path that will take you along the Cherry Creek for as far as you can imagine. There is an on site porto-potty and dog bag station near the parking lot.

Great place with some excellent history of people traveling by horse or wagon into Denver as settlers. Its over run with photographers these days. Come out here for access to the trails for a nice walk with your dogs. Porta Potties are available here.

A beautiful area for walking or biking, with lots of miles of trails to explore. The homestead itself is a well-preserved reminder of a lifestyle long past. Many photographers use this location for portraits.

Great gem of Colorado history. Great to stop by if you are passing it. Expect to spend around 15 mins total, reading the placards. Unless there is an event, then you could make a day out of it

Great place to see pioneer history. Goes along with 20 Mile and 4 Mile house that provided pioneers going north to Denver a place to rest, eat and water their horses.
