Ill preface this by saying this is a really fun place to visit. However, we noticed quite a few major flaws. First, as Camelbeach season pass holders, one of the "perks" is the opportunity to visit Aquatopia for a day for $19.99 instead of paying for a lodge stay. Well, we called to find out about when we could use this perk and we were told "Were open 10 to 10 every day -you can use it any day except for a weekend. Okay, so we went to go last Thursday and called that morning and we were told "Sorry, we are closed today for cleaning". There was nothing at all on the facebook page; nothing on the website ANYWHERE about a black out date! Good thing we didnt drive all the way there! So we finally got there today. It was quite crowded which would have been fine, except that early afternoon, two major rides "broke down". The "water stopped" . The attendants didnt have any other information - since this was the water coaster and Venus Fly Trap, the most popular rides, this was a major bummer! This made the other slides all the more crowded, but the lines were not terrible. In our years going go Camel beach all summer, we have never seen multiple rides just "go down" at once. And we have never, ever seen one of their major slides, let alone two, go down for the entire day. Its just never happened. The other situation that really surprised me was the lack of life guards. There were slides that were all but "self serve" where there was no attendant at the top monitoring when people were going. This was really surprising, as Camel beach is very well staffed. But the worst, was the lack of lifeguard supervision in the river. The river is not a "lazy river" like Camel beach, but rather has a fairly fast current. At Camel Beach you MUST be in a tube. If you are not, the guards will ask you to get one. Not so in this river. It twists and turns through dark tunnels and many MANY young children were swimming in the current with no tubes at all, anywhere in sight. And no parents. This might be okay if there were lifeguards, but there were long stretches where the water was not visible to the lifeguard stations. A young child can drown in the shallow end of a swimming pool; how much easier in a dimly lit tunnel full of inner tubes and a fast current? Compared to Camel Beach, safety was really lax at this facility, which is surprising since it is all part of the same facility. That being said, this is a great place to visit for families. Its very similar to Great Wolf, but I think a little better for older children. If the two best rides had not been broken down, we would have rated it above Great Wolf. But since we were only there on a day pass (we still spent $80 to get our family in), to have the two best rides down for the entire day (the staff said they would be broken until tomorrow) was really a bummer.

If your child is under 40" forget about doing much of anything at this park. They only offer 4 slides for children under 40" tall. Also, their toddler section is quite limited. Staff is inconsistent, one day you can bring in some snacks for little ones and the next it is strictly enforced. Any parent with a child that is particular with snacks is out of luck. One day kids can ride medium slides and the next, they cant. There is almost nothing you can do together with your child. They do not staff the park properly during the week so attractions such as the lazy river are "one participant or family tube at a time" so the single hairs on duty can push you and your family around the river. Some of the water features work, others are broken, and at least one major attraction (the family slide) was down for maintenance the two days we were here. Half of the staff is friendly and also permits the kids to participate on features the kids can clearly handle. Other than that this place unfortunately has nothing for little kids. One life guard even stated, "every lifeguard operates differently." Simply put, this is a ski resort that cant compete with Blue Mountain in that regard and is attempting to compete with Kalahari and Great Wolf as a water park. The air temperature in the water park area is chilly on overcast days and at night. Water temperature is chilly too. Our kids didnt want to go in the water after an hour or so because they were freezing and shivering; whereas, at Kalahari they played all day until they passed out. The Camelback channel in the room promotes Aquatopia as "The best and biggest indoor water park on the East Coast". With Kalahari and Great Wolf Lodge down the street, I find this to be sheer propaganda. If you have kids above 48" and want a variety of little features besides the water park, this is a decent place (but all of their other fearures are add on expenses). As for me, I have a 38" child and a 42" child and I will be heading back to Kalahari this winter. Camelback has lost my business as a snowboarder (local ski club group leader too btw who will never switch from Blue Mountain now) and as a parent.

Bad business, who does NOT honor their word and honestly, even if they didnt give me their word (which they did, I was actually advised which days to pick by THEIR employee who I spoke with over the phone) it wouldve just been the right thing to do. I had originally booked 2 nights in June, while they were running a special. I called a few days prior to check in, my uncle had passed away, and the funeral/wake were the same days I had reserved. I spoke with their employee who told me to just pick a different date, as they would honor the original price. I just arrived at check in, where I was told the employee I had spoke to over the phone had given me incorrect information, and proceeded to charge me an extra 300$. I then asked if they could do anything at all, considering it was THEIR employee who gave me the wrong information and simply told me no, theirs nothing they can or will do. I then asked to speak to the manager, who reiterated the same as above. As I said in the beginning, bad business. I, myself will never do business w the establishment myself and neither should you. Also, the rooms are disgusting. And attempting to discuss any issues with the manager, Rocco, is a complete waste of time, as theres never "anything they can do to help you".

Camelback Aquoatopia opened in 2015. So We decided visiting in April 2016, celebrating my Sons birthday present, great experience a lot of water slides tubs, wake pool, toddlers pool, you named! everything to get a lots fun With the family, We arrived Friday stay a night and leave Saturday, on April and paid $330.00. Add like $ 22.00 for buffet for member of ur family. ( we where 4 ). So We have to comeback March 24th. 2017. This time $380.00 we add 2 guests for $35.00 each, kids love more than the first time, they know where everything its, So get ready to go up all those steps to get on the rides, no big lines to go on, was the best part! Kids are not afraid any more to go on the raids, but I cant keep going with them... This is the best part to me, the under water bar, few Stellas for $6 a piece, what a treat for my wife and my self! Bar staff were so polite and the service to me was awesome, no card used! Just cash make big difference. Prices overall are ok! Avoid crowded days otherwise your trip can become a nightmare! And tell your kids dont dive in the outdoor sauna pool!!!
