I have attended a few productions there, and while they have always been first-rate, the current production of "Tommy" is shockingly good. I never was that big a fan of the album (still am not) but this staging was spectacular, insightful, visually capturing, and possibly the best it could be. One thing I want to especially mention is the choreography and dancing, both of which at times slide to mediocrity in off-Broadway productions, but at the Paramount was fresh, interesting and had enough variety to overcome the other visual elements (ie, projections, scenery movements, etc). I d ont know where they get these dancers, but they are precise, energetic and eye-catching. I see they are doing "Cabaret" and "Les Miz" coming up at the Paramount and, even thought Ive seen both more often than I can count (Chicago, LA and NY), after seeing "Tommy" I am looking forward to their interpretation of those shows even more.

This Tony Award winning musical "IN THE HEIGHTS" was not only Broadway-caliber, but rates as one of my very favorites. I fell in love with this musical in 2008 first seeing it on Broadway and have attended other performances of “ITH” over the years. This heartfelt story has a talented cast, beautiful ballads, energetic dance routines, live orchestra, and a perfect replica of the original set. The work that these performers and production staff have invested into this show is evident. Seemingly effortlessly, smooth and slick, and as professional the Broadway production, “IN THE HEIGHTS” never misses a beat, a step or a word in the fast-paced dialogue. Artistic Director, Jim Corti has to be proud of his flawless production. Highly recommend - *****5 STARS!!!

This Sunday was my first time visiting the Paramount Theatre (and downtown Aurora) and I was very impressed with the venue. The theatre is gorgeous inside and out and can hold its own against the larger theaters in downtown Chicago. I loved the ornately decorated ceiling and beautiful deco wall-hangings. We had orchestra seats for the production of RENT (which was fantastic!!), there was ample leg room and great vantage point of the stage from row F. The bathrooms has vey long lines during intermission, and after dashing from the main floor, to the balcony to the basement, I found the lower level to have the shortest line.

everything was great except valet. No signs stating that have to wait in line on side street. waited 20 minutes on galena to pull up to valet. valet let first person go but told me had to go around building to side street and wait in line some more. I was forced to back up into traffic to get out of line. already drove an hour to get there using GPS. Finally made to side street and had to sit another 20 minutes. I was almost late to the show and doesnt have late seating. Signs do wonders for the customer experience. Wasted valuable time.

This theater was built in the 1920s and has been restored to its original splendor. The facade is impressive but not nearly as impressive as whats inside. The high ceilings are ornate, the lobby has an amazing chandelier, every inch is elegant. Its overwhelming to be in a building where some of the greats performed. The theater puts on spectacular plays and does all kinds of events including Classic Movie Mondays where patrons can enjoy less than new films for only one dollar.

Great theater, beautifully restored. All the seats seem have a good view of the stage and are comfortable, although could use a bit more leg room. Weve enjoyed the broadway series shows over the last 5 or 6 years. These shows have been universally amazing all-around - stage design, acting, singing, and music. The pit orchestra always sounds top-notch. They have bars on both levels with reasonable prices. Were planning on continuing our patronage indefinitely.

BEST MUSICALS EVER! We have been subscribers of there musical series since they started. Performances are as good or even better as any theater down town Chicago and often as good as Broadway. Price of seats are very reasonable. The atmosphere is quaint. Seats are comfortable but you can tell they were refurbish. Most recently we asked to change our location and they were very accommodating. If you like live theater, it is well worth the cost!

We are long-time subscribers and would put this theater, its exceptional shows, accessibility and cordial staff against any Broadway venue! It is an amazing theater that is truly cost effective. While we do attend shows in Chicago and NYC regularly, we always find the types of shows and caliber of cast/music to be top notch and on equal footing to the big city theaters. Do yourself a favor and get to a show to see for yourself.

3 words - Monday Movie Night. Movie is a buck and they sell you booze. I have no idea why more people dont know about this. It is very cool that they do this and they have some great movie showing. They even do a kid friendly movie over Christmas break. 6 kids and 1 adult to the movie for seven dollars!!! The theater is beautiful and it does so much more than movie night - but still it is amazing.

Sweeney Todd was the best musical I have ever seen (better than Broadway). I will definitely become a season ticket holder. The show could not have been better, was so affordable and easy to get to, and every encounter with ticketing, bar tenders, ushers, etc was enjoyable. What a fantastic operation. Bravo to the cast of the show and the staff of the theatre!

This is a spectacular art deco theater with great sightlines from every seat. Ive made the drive from Chicago for 2 different shows and it was well worth it. Food options in the area seem extremely limited unless you want Mexican food. Im not sure why, but aside from Two Brothers Round House, we could only find Mexican restaurants and fast food chains.

Very clean theater with a lot of showtimes (so if youre running late after dinner before, you can catch the next show within a short time). Refreshments are a bit expensive, but thats all theaters. They have comedies, plays, musicals, and a variety of shows. The last performance I attended was "Rent" and it was exxxxxcellent!

I went to the Paramount a few years ago to see a great artist. The acoustics of the room were absolutely horrible, the was music was echoing so bad behind me I couldnt understand the artist barely. I dont know if it was because I was in the front/center row or something, but I will probably never go back to a show here.

This is a great venue, the shows here are very good. I have seen several shows here The Latin Kings of Comedy, Sweeny Todd, Jesus Christ Superstar... and all of them were great shows. This is a great play house with great shows, the price of a season pass is the cost of one show in many other locations in Chicago.

Jesus Christ Superstar was excellent. Better than I thought it would be. One complaint. Waaaayyyyy too loud. Im hard of hearing and it still hurt my ears and made some of the singing sound like they were screaming into a microphone). If I plugged my ears it was perfect. Take your ear plugs and enjoy the show

Just ended the musical series for the 2011-2012 season. All performances were awesome. HAIR was so well done. The end was so emotionally moving. Highly recommend the series. Very affordable worth every penny. We have renewed for the 2012-2013 series. Looking forward to another amazing season. Well done paramount!
