My husband and I started our wedding plans in 2015. We put a deposit down on the ballroom at Lake Ashtons club house. From the time of November to January they changed ownership of restaurant at the venue. We were never informed that there was now new management at the restaurant. We had prior arrangements made when we put our deposit down. These/ some of these arrangements were not honored. The general manager of the Fire at lake Ashton, Katerina White made it extremely difficult to work with. Throughout this entire experience it has been a nightmare with her. She would say something and later on change what she said. We never received a contract from the restaurant. Our wedding day at lake Ashton was 9/2/2016 and 9/3/2016. On 9/2 everything was done nicely. On 9/3/2016 we were humiliated in front of 400 guest. At 9:30pm a bartender notifed me that our bar tab is currently at $10,000.00. Then at 10pm my husband, father, and I were notified by the same bartender that currently our bar tab is over $15,000.00. The bartender also stated that the did not have enough alcohol to support the event. She stated that she sent her coworkers to buy more alcohol at all the ABC liquor stores in the area. Katerina arrived at the venue, she then told us our final bill is $7,500. She also demanded that we pay the bill now. She also called the Lakewales police department and said that we did not want to pay the bar tab. We requested a copy of the register tape to review it before we payed the final amount. She refused for us to review the bill. 2 and a half hours later we were given a final copy of the register tape and our final invoice. There were several mistakes on the bar tape which included amounts of $4,004 and $7,007 which were charges per drink. Our bar was closed down at 10pm and our event ended at 12am. They were extremely unprofessional and were not properly trained for the event. Alcohol was also served to minors, they did not check identification.
