If your kids say NO!, tell them they have PONYS! but dont tell them you cant ride them. This Vineyard is very beautiful, it has a huge plot dedicated to the wine, a horse stable and an incredible outdoor setup with about 20 mini tables. They have about 5 porta-potties set up, in case the inside johns are crazy stacked, which it often is. Interior of the house is about 2 floors, but you only get to stay on the first floor. There are 2 bars inside, 1 outside, and a food stand as well, so those incredible wines dont give you a tipsy right away. Now, going back to the interior, I must say, this feels like a fancy ranch house full of people see to have an appreciation for wine. Every person inside is either drunk, or drunk-ish. Youll find not only drunk people, but beautiful art, some buy me now items like an adult sippy cup(highly recommended for those of you with an inner child and an alcoholic tooth), and your standard Baiting Hollow merchandise. Its very comfortable indoors, the noise isnt too loud and bars arent too full. The wine, I tried the Wine Splitter, the Rosé, the Riesling, the Red Velvet(Dessert Wine), and the Cheval Bleu. Let me say this, Im not a wine guy, but I am a sweet guy. I personally enjoyed the Rosé (thank you kind stranger for that tip) and the Cheval Bleu. If youre looking to taste something sweet, not too sour, very hintish, and zero bitterness, the Cheval Bleu is for you. My least favorite is the Red Velvet. I had a taste, its not for me. I can see why some people may like. It is very bitter, and I believe it to have quite an earthyness to it. Personally, I am a white wine person. If you just want some fresh air, sit outside, there are plenty of tables, and plenty of grapes. Its quite loud outside, but if you can get past it, it really is an amazing spot to sit. The sun wont be an issue because the tent is set up to hold roughly 30+ tables, so its actually quite spacious and not cramped in at all. They have tours I believe either every hour or every half an hour, I dont know, but I hear its quite nice, you get to see the smaller horses(PONYS!). Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. Really wish the wine was free. Oh well, I finally understand why people dont go to church on Sundays. THIS!

I think I would call this place more of a roadhouse then I winery. I was there on a very busy weekend and they have lots of outdoor seating on plastic chairs and tables and a band playing in the gazebo. I came with a large bus group and we thought we would have a reserved table but we did not, and it was very hard to find seating and had to stand around most of the time. We were also told we cannot bring anything off our bus to eat or drink as they sold those items there I did not like this policy The tasting area consists of a few plastic tables with some kids pouring out sample wines. This was very unorganized and not very classy. As I walked around the vineyards were roped off so you cannot walk through and look at the grapes. They do have barns and they have rescue horses, there were quite a few on display and some of them were even friendly enough to walk over for a nice petting. They do have walking tours but only every hour or so and we were unfortunate and not were not able to go on one. You would think when you have a large tour group of 50 or more they would accommodate you with a private tour. Inside the main building they do have additional seating, a gift shop and a few restrooms. The lines can get quite long for the restrooms and they do have some porta potties outside on the grounds If you like the roadhouse type atmosphere with the live music and a lot of people in a crowded place this is the winery to visit not as classy as some of the others I visited that day but very nice on its own.

I have visited this vineyard twice and each time it was pretty entertaining. Both visits I went on a Saturday. Their location is farther out in LI than most of the wineries but in my opinion its worth the trip. Their wines to me are some of the best in the area but they are pretty costly and Ive never seen any on sale. They have horse stables on site and for a small fee you can take a guided tour. They also are one of the few wineries that offer food although its pretty expensive the options are pretty good. They boast that their merlot meatballs are famous but I didnt think they were that great. Next time I would probably bring my own food, which they do allow. They also usually have a live band playing in addition to the food for sale. It gets pretty crowded the later in the evening it gets but there was plenty of seating. They also have a smoking area which I found very helpful to me as a non smoker. I hate to sit down for a bite while choking on second hand smoke! Lovely winery to visit if you can avoid the most crowded times whihc seem to be mid summer.

This place is amazing...and some reviewers seem to forget that it is a BUSINESS...people dont "get" that if the winery gives away free wine all day, pays musicians to offer free entertainment and allows BUS LOADS of people to bring their own food, there would be no business. You have to expect crowds on the weekends in the summer and the bathrooms are going to be busy because people are drinking. At least they added the portas ..and by the way those are an additional expense as well. These folks do an amazing job rescuing horses and running a family business. If you are looking for 5 star service and facilities, dont go to a place that has the word "farm" in its name. Go to Aureole, Aquavit, Bouley, Jean Georges, wearing a suit and tie, with a reservation and pay $600+ for a meal and wine for 2 people. Get real folks. Baiting Hollow is FUN, the wine is very good, facilities are clean, well maintained and the service is friendly and attentive.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! We went there yesterday for my birthday and the staff there was BEYOND rude and disrespectful. We had a large group and did the responsible thing and had designated drivers. The drivers were drinking coffee outside and their staff threaten to call the police. They said and I quote "they can buy water inside." How about as an establishment that serves alcohol they appreciate people doing the right thing. Its not like we brought a different type of wine. I have been to many other vineyards that had no problems with people having their own food and drink. We were at the distillery right before and they had no issue with people drinking coffee. I will proceed to tell everyone I speak to to never ever ever go to these place. Management should be horrified that my staff acted like that.

First off, this review is a little biased because I love the fact that Baiting Hollow donates to horse charities. Their stable is beautiful, and I love the picnic area. That being said, I have never been to a winery that hosts a wedding and doesnt shut down for it. We went on Mothers Day and in one tent was Mothers Day brunch with a wedding right inside the tent next door, with the wedding-goers traipsing in and out of the tent to the tasting room. It wasnt too bothersome for me, but Id be pretty mad as the bride. Love the live music and the ambiance. The wine is decent, but my favorite but definitely but in the bottom five. Their tastings are a little high priced, but such is the North Fork, and who can say no to the horses?
