Last visit on fourth street live, this was Makers Mark Bourbon House and Lounge... A nice hangout with music, good food, and even better cocktails. Visiting it now as Bourbon Raw on a Saturday night and Im immediately surprised by how empty it is. The space is relatively unchanged, just darker and lacking the crowd I remembered at Makers. Regardless, we were seated and greeted by a friendly server who rattled off the special. Girlfriend had some oysters for an appetizer which she seemed to enjoy. We were also treated to some delicious bread... I mean... ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. Our main course (we each had steak) took forever to get to the table. Whenever a server has to remind you that your food will be up shortly, twice, things arent going well. They totally lost us here.... The steaks were bland with little flavor other than the off-putting blue cheese spread on my strip. Her steak was on the rare side of the medium rare she ordered. The sides were forgettable with equally little, if any, flavor. The cocktails took awhile to get to us but were only okay (two old fashioneds) considering the price. Disappointed to see Makers Mark gone, further disappointed in Bourbon Raws slow service and lackluster food. Id give it another shot just for the bread though. .. So good.

Absolutely the worst experience of my life! We travelled to Louisville for the Kentucky Derby this weekend to celebrate my cousins bachelor party. Everyone was really excited about eating dinner at Makers Mark. The excitement subsided as soon as we stepped in the door. I have never experienced such a rude host manager in my entire life. I think his name was Jacob. We called ahead of time to let them know that we were running a little late. We arrived 45 minutes late and we had a smaller party of seven because a few of the guys decided to go home after the Derby. Jacob wanted us to pay $100 for every missing person from our party. On top of that, when we refused to pay such a ridiculous penalty, this guy threatened to sue us. What kind of restaurant threatens their customers?!?! I have never experienced anything so disturbing in my entire life. Jacob explained to me how Derby week works and that they expect every customer to accommodate them and abide by their ridiculous dinner reservation contract. This guy had the rudest smirk on his face and talked to us with such arrogance and contempt I almost forgot that we were the customer. I cant say anything for the food, because we walked out of this place...no steak in the world is worth being verbally abused and threatened.

I wish I could make this review half of a star or less. We came in as a group of 10 and the majority of us ordered the burger of the week. Our water was cloudy and tasted like soap. The server (and apparently the acting GM) derided our group for not calling in reservations ahead of time. The restaurant was totally empty, but it took an hour to get our food out. Keep in mind this is at 11:25 a.m. Those who got the burger said it wasnt good and was undercooked. We didnt have time to eat because we had to go back to work, and it took her about 20 more minutes to get us to-go boxes. Another 45 minutes was added to pay for bills, which were terribly mishandled. Instead of being apologetic, the waitress said we were wrong because "this wasnt a fast food restaurant" and getting food out in an hour is an impossible task. Another table of eight came in, got food and paid before we even got our lunch. Terribly unorganized and bad service. Never going back.

I was surprised that my experience was not good at all. This was my first time at Makers Mark and I was so disappointed. First, we were given time to look at the menu to see what we wanted to order. When the waitress came back, we let her know what we wanted and she told us that one of our choices was not available, and that there were several things on the menu that were not available. I thought maybe that is something she could have told us prior to us looking at the menu. Then I ordered the fried chicken. Unfortunately, when it came out my chicken was seriously overcooked!. Burned in some spots. I had a tiny scoop of mashed potatoes that were very dry and tasted like instant potatoes (yuck!).. The only good thing on the plate were the greens. I felt that for $24 for fried chicken EVERYTHING should have been exceptional as this is supposed to be an upscale restaurant. Wont be back.. And don’t recommend.

A bunch of friends and myself went in to have a night on the town and had an extremely bad experience here. We sat down and waited 10 minutes to order drinks. Once the drinks were ordered, we waited another 15 minutes and decided to leave. The only waitress in the whole bar rushed out to grab us and said our drinks were ready. We went back in and waited about 5 minutes to receive the drinks that were ready. We then decided to close out. Meanwhile, shes the only wait staff and one bartender in the whole place. Waited yet another 15 minutes to finally check out. We received several bills that had invalid charges on them, and as icing on the cake, an additional 20% gratuity added on while sitting at the bar! Ive never seen that at ANY bar. Tl;dr - Stay far away from this place. Theyre understaffed, and work every angle to try and take advantage of you. Well never go again.

Cant express enough how disappointed we are with the lack of communication and accountability on the part of the Sales and Management team at this resturant. We had our wedding rehersal dinner there, had guest paint on canvases to commemorate our wedding, spent thousands of dollars, only to have Makers Mark throw away everything our party had painted before we got back from our honeymoon. No phone call to anyone before doing it, apparently they felt the trash was a better place for our memories? After calling management, they were full of exscuses, "We TRY to hold onto what guest leave behind, but if they dont come back for it, we throw it away". Complete disregard for the fact that their Sales Manager had several contact phone numbers and the manager made no effort to contact Sales or us? Inconsiderate and unprofessional. Will NEVER patron here again.

We wanted something we couldnt get in Arizona so we walked here. I wanted fried green tomatoes, but they only have those for Sunday brunch (10-4). We got a couple of bourbon flights & my husband quickly found something in his last drink. They replaced it with another drink that he discovered a fruit fly in, after he took a drink. I checked my drinks, but after I added my ice, and took a drink, I saw something in my drink too! Im hoping it was a piece of garlic, but I think that may be wishful thinking. (Really not trying to think about it.) Even after we brought up the repeated contamination of our drinks, nothing was done except to bring a new drink. Were taking this as a life lesson and wanted to help people avoid this particular lesson. There seems to be many better options that we will be frequenting going forward. We suggest you do too.
