I used to love going to Mecca Masjid when it was located behind Chase Bank on Plainfield Rd. Sheikh Hassan Aly is very open-minded, easy-to-approach, and an extremely knowledgable imam. He also has the best recitation Ive ever heard in all my time living in the US. Its because of how highly I would recommend going for prayer and programs led by him, that I find the new location of Mecca Masjid to be extremely unfortunate. The parking space is a fraction of the capacity that the masjid itself has been designed to hold. It used to take half of the Kmart parking lot and more when it was located in that single room behind the bank. The community is already large and will keep growing. I dont quite understand how people will park and pray, especially in Ramadan. Ive only visited once, but the parking was a clear issue, so— . if youre part of the community and going for jumuah: go as early as possibly . if youre part of the Board for this masjid: this issue needs to be critically addressed

The mosque seems modern and renovated. Once I prayed there, saw work has been been undergo especially on the mosque interior. Also, I will leave a note down here and say, noticed even though this Islamic center is for all Muslim background, it is particularly for Shia Muslims.

MashaAllah nice big open space high ceilings beautiful masjid. Official opening hasnt occurred as of today. Went for Salatul Jumuah....got there just in time got one of the last few parking spaces.

Finally a long awaited upgrade for the MECCA Center. It is new, spacious, and nicely designed. It is nice to now have a comfortable place for all Muslims to meet for any activity.
