I spent today touring the vineyards of Loudon County, Virginia. Most were over the top, corporate establishments which really disappointed me knowing that Virginia wine has for so long been an under-appreciated, under-stated part of American wine. To get away from it, I chose a vineyard off the main roads because I thought it would be sheltered from the wedding-party, party-bus atmosphere I had experienced for the first half of the day. I was more than impressed with the atmosphere and the quality of wine. Hiddencroft had at least 3 red wines which were better than everything I had tried during the course of the day. Family run and totally invested in producing a quality product, I really cant say enough about this vineyard/winery. They deserve the credit, and I look forward to visiting again in the summer, buying a bottle of Cab Franc and relaxing...

Awesome little place, such sweet people. A little off the beaten path, but well worth it. My mom and I stopped by kinda late and it was getting dark, but they reopened the place for us! The traminette was great, on par or better than ones we had tried by the Finger Lakes in New York. Id say theres something for everyone here. I love bold reds (malbecs and cab francs) and loved their chambourcin. Normally, I can take or leave fruit wines, but theirs were with real flavor like actually biting into the fruit itself, not simply a generic, one-note sweetness. Also, they apparently put on sales every month featuring a couple of wines, putting great wines at $14-$16. They have a great variety of whites, reds, and fruit wines. I feel like I could take a small group that has varying tastes and everyone would be able to find something they love. Worth a visit!

I hate giving this winery such a low rating, but our interactions with the winemaker, Clyde (I believe was his name), really soured us on the whole experience. The wine was really very good and all of the tasting staff were absolutely delightful. Clyde was so exceptionally rude though when we left that I actually regret buying the bottle that we purchased, and we were going to buy multiple bottles prior to our interactions with him.

Excellent wines and a very knowledgeable staff have made this one of my favorite wineries in the area. Light white and bold red wines are joined by a host of fruit wines that serve to set Hiddencroft apart. The tasting room is in a beautiful old house, and a deck and patio outside offer plenty of seating in a beautiful setting, with a roaring bonfire outside on the weekends in the colder months.

Try the traminette imho their best. I like this place mostly for their whites and atmosphere. Like many of the smaller local vineyards they are very friendly. They have both outdoor and indoor seating with a relaxing view of the mountains. During the summer they often have live music. I highly recommend coming out for that.

This winery is tied as my favorite. I love their reds! Also, they have amazing fruit wines. They have cherry, blackberry, raspberry and blue berry. All of them taste like you are eating the berry liquefied, absolutely amazing. They have a huge fire pit/ paddio thats awesome. If you have a large group, this place has space.

Best wine in Loudoun (& thats saying something!). If youre looking for really good wine, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and an absence of crowds, this is the vineyard to visit. Every wine was at least good, and their new patio is a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

We come here twice a year. We love their reds. They have a lovely facility with a beautiful fire pit. It is off the beaten path but well worth it. Clyde and Terry always make you feel welcome. Make this winery a must
