Ive been to my fair share of breweries and this is probably the best one Ive been on. Whats to love about it? 1. Tours are free - you just have to make sure you show up on Saturday between 12 and 3, since thats the only time that tours run. There are no tickets, so it is first come, first serve. Our 1:30 ish tour (which lasted about 45 minutes) had about 30 people on it. Our guide (wish I remembered his name) was also very friendly and you could tell he was trying to make it an interactive tour, rather than a spewing facts tour. Plus, this was the first time I got to see beer-bottling in action. For most brewery tours Ive been to, Ive gone on a weekend, and they typically dont bottle on the weekends. So Im glad that I finally got the opportunity to see that. 2. Beer tastings are 5 3 oz. samples for $10. They give you a sheet (almost like a punch card) and theyll mark down which ones youve tasted so far. 3. The beers are really great. Whenever I do beer tastings, theres only maybe one or two that I like. But here, I liked pretty much all of them. My favorite was the Fleur de Lehigh (which is a seasonal Spring beer). The Joe Coffee Porter was excellent. I usually dont like coffee porters because they just tend to have a bitter taste, and not much flavor. But this one had a great, fresh coffee flavor. Tip - be sure to check out their store. If the season is over, you can get some SUPER cheap beer. When I went in April, their Winter Wunder was just $5 for a 12-pack. Probably the only time I wished I lived in Philly so that I can bring a bunch of beer back home.

Philadelphia Brewing Co. offers the best beer tour Ive had. They explain their beer making process from grain to bottle, share huge amounts of free beer, answer all your questions, and do it all with a friendly, welcoming demeanor. I cant recommend the place enough. My last visit was extra special: the tour guide pulled some fresh bottles right off the bottling line and poured for the group. Careful, though: they give you a sample of every beer they have on tap. Plan a designated driver or take the El and have a great time.

Decent beer in many styles. Nothing to write home about, but good beer nevertheless. They have beer tours every Saturday, which are worth experiencing. Other than that, not too much to see at the brewery itself. You can stop in during the week and mix your own case for a decent price, which is nice. Hop across the street to the Atlantis Bar to try all of PBCs beers on tap for cheap.

PBC, Oh my Goodness all my favorite brews under one roof, they are all great! I just got JOE coffee porter in a sampler case. What a discovery! I may have found my favorite beer of all time. Kudos to Chalfont Beverage for ordering me a case for thanksgiving. Im sure this is what the Pilgrims were looking for when they came to America!

A great building, brought back to life to make beer. The tours are awesome. Dont show up late and expect to get in, as this is a busy place and the staff are all taking time out to handle tours. Dont miss the Fleur de Lehigh -- still one of the best beers ever. mcget / trophy bikes

We went for the tour and everyone is very nice. You can easily tell theres some deep rooted hate between the owners previous business venture with Yards but besides that everyone is in uppity spirits. The main room is massive, perfect for a festival once a month or season.

Solid beer lineup, and entertaining guide on the free tour. Typical craft prices - $5/pint or $10/taster flight. Seasonals are more interesting, but mainstays are flavorful, too. Their biggest reminder: beer, like bread, should be consumed fresh! Interesting old place.

Need to update web site and google. I only drove over because everything said open till 5. Arrived at 3:40 to be turned away as tasting room closed at 3. Might try again, but with so many other options might not bother. Hello Yards Brewing Co.!

The brewery tour on Saturdays is pretty cool. Visit PBC is your looking for a real brewery experience. Plenty of samples to go around. Plan accordingly as there is no AC, but on a nice day this tour is amazing!
