We booked PEP Bowl for our Employee Appreciation event and it was fabulous! From speaking with the staff at PEP Bowl, I had a very positive feeling. We arrived about 15 minutes early and the place was already opened and had the A/C going which was great because it was almost 90 degrees outside. They had set up two large tables for our food, which we brought with us and were easily able to put everything out. The decor is outdated (they do have updated computer score boards though) but everything was nice, clean and fresh. We had about 22 people with plenty of seating on benches and tables with pull out seats by the lanes. We ended up only using 4 of the 6 lanes and had a great time! Jeremy was courteous, helpful and patient and made sure everything ran smoothly for our group. Definitely would recommend PEP Bowl!

My husband and my two and five year old daughters went to PEP this Saturday to bowl a game. Then entrance courtyard was very sweet and well kept with plenty of tables with umbrellas. It was perfect and the staff was great. It was definately "vintage" and according to staff it was an old mob hang out! The lanes had railings to prevent you from getting gutter balls (good for the kids) and a ramp for the kids to roll the ball down to give them better aim and distance with the ball. They said that you can rent out the entire alley for very reasonable price and BYO food and beverages. One of these days we will host a party there. We will definitely be back!

PEP Bowl is the best. What more can I say? I moved away from Philly last month and will truly miss bowling here with friends. North Bowl and Lucky Strikes dont hold a candle to this spot. Vintage ball returns, BYOB, a small intimate atmosphere, accommodating staff. What more could you want? I would generally call ahead to reserve a lane. Build up a rapport with the owner, Dan, and youre set!

Stumbled upon PEP Bowl when I moved to South Philly. Im an avid bowler and couldnt find a bowling alley closer that South Jersey til now. Scoring is new. Center dates back to the 50s but with synthetic lanes, you get a nostalgic experience with new equipment. Joined a league soon there after. No BYOB yet but they said theyre hoping to change that.

Great place to bowl. I love the old time feel and classic ball return. The lanes are in great condition and the pins are are reactive. Dan is great. We rented the lane for two hours and he let us finish up our last game even tho our time was up with no problem. Id definitely recommend Pep Bowl if you live in south philly

Affordable bowling in the city. Friendly and helpful staff (though usually only one person working). Only 6 lanes, underground, but has a super cool vibe. The company has an admirable philanthropy, and its a non-profit. Support the cause! As a note, frequent equipment issues (which are promptly fixed).

Reserved a lane two weeks in advance, when we showed up they just told us our lane was broken, and only offered us to bowl for free in a week after our plans, we live a state away and came while we were visiting but we never got a single call in advance about our lane

The service at Pep Bowl is excellent. We hosted a party here and the staff went above and beyond to help us have a good time. The focus is on bowling, not on superficial stuff like some other places in Center City. I only wish I knew about it sooner!

Theres a very nostalgic, old school charm about this hidden basement bowling alley that supports a good cause. A welcome change of pace from the gigantic neon monstrosities that most are familiar with.

Waaaaayyyy too expensive! I might consider going if it was $15.00 per hour, with shoes and unlimited bowlers thrown in.
