The food at this restaurant has good visual presentation, but does not taste good. The food is not only overpriced, the service is horrible. Went there on a Saturday evening there was no one else eating there but our group of 7, they took 2hours to serve our food. In the meantime staff was at the bar taking shots, seating in the booth next to us eating, while we were waiting, you could hear the cooks in the back singing and joking around, while we waited and waited when they brought our food out, they forgot one of our groups dinner needless to say the meal came out after we all had eaten(2.5 hour later). There are so many other Spanish Restaurants in Philadelphia go there rather than stepping foot in Isla Verde. If you look for great food and great service do not go there.

Beautiful place, surpringsinly located in North Philadelphia, service is good but extremely slow. We were there on Thursday night, a busy night for the arts in North Philly as it was a 1st Thursday, but the restaurant was empty, but a fee people sitting at the bar. It took an hour for them to bring our food, witch was not made to order and they even forget our rice & beans. The food is not typical Puerto Rican but a mix of something else. Wont come back there is much better Hispanic & Puerto Rican restaurants in the area.

Attended on a Saturday night for their Latin night event. Good mix of music. The dance floor is tile, but its small. It was very crowded! And they only had two bar tenders manning the bar. It took 45 minutes for one couple to close their tab. I ordered a coke.. and it took 20 minutes. They definitely need to up their service at the bar. Otherwise, the ambience was really really good. Crowd was a little clique-ish but people were friendly. Definitely a place to go with your own group of friends/dancers.

I do not like getting a tip charged on my bill for bad service....A tip could be charged if I had a party of six or more which is fine...But I will not buy any food from them and go to the bar to get my own drinks since I waited a half hour the last time I was there...

The food taste great !!! But the service is horrible. I been waiting for my check for about an hour now. Im debating if i should leave and bounce on the check. But i wanna come back and eat here again. P.S. Im still waiting for my check while im writing this

First time here and we had a great time celebrating my wifes birthday!! The atmosphere was mature, friendly and inviting. The entire staff took the time to provide a good service to us. Keep the Isla Verde Café going!! We need a good place to go and enjoy!!

I have been looking for a lounge like this for a long time..Great music..nice older crowd..no drama...our server was very sweet and attentive...but the beans were very salty and didnt taste a bit of sofrito..

The food is great, except for the monfongo. They use the yellow plantains instead of the green ones. The tables should be moved to the end so more space in the floor for dance
