Founded in 1743 by Benjamin Franklin, among others; promotes useful knowledge in the sciences and humanities. Very interesting to learn about how the Founding Fathers established an institution that encouraged learning and scientific exploration in our country when it was new. I love what this place stands for.

This is a tiny, free museum in the building Franklin used for his philosophical society meetings that usually has great exhibits. Google maps got the location wrong though; its actually in the building across the street.
