I only gave this place one star because I had to in order to write a review. From the moment we walked in we felt unwelcome. My family was in town for our family reunion and we all are a big wine family so like we did the year before we decided to take a wine tour through northeast. This year we decided to inclide South Shore Winery. There were 15 people in our group. Therefore, we called ahead and secured our spot. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a bunch of moaning and "o my God are you serious". The employee pouring behind the counter (Ken) had to have been the worst part about our experience though. He not only insulted me but my entire family brought in from 5 different states, stating "o you (insert family name here) girls should know better, refering to only the women of the group being wrong for going out "drinking", especially since one of my family members owned a bar HE (Ken) use to not only deliver mail to but drank at quite regularly! We chalked that one up to possibly being a joke but when I refered to an awful tasting wine "their award winning" wine getting someone drunk ( due to the dreadfully noticeable alcohol content) Ken said "the only word you hear after Drunk is Exit" he literally yelled at me for saying the word drunk in an establishment that serves alcoholic beverages. No I was not drunk I literally had two samples before he said this to me. My whole family was shocked. Nobody knew what to say or think the whole room got quite until someone said "she was only kidding" he went on to lecture her about how he doesnt care and said cant any of you read the sign which said "anyone who appears to be intoxicated will not be served" not anyone who uses the word drunk will be publicly humiliated! No thats not where the embarrassment stopped. Someone else in my family who felt he was over reacting spoke up and said "if youre worrying about us drinking and driving dont worry we have D,Ds" who we later found out were being harassed (while they sat and waited in the gift shop)by being asked repeadedly if they were going to buy something and were being followed around like a hawk, as if they were going to steal something. I was so embarrassed by the pervious multiple demeaning remarks by Ken that I stepped outside. Five minutes later my family comes out and tells me about the rest of their experience as it turns out Ken was not done attacking. South Shore/Mazza wineries is currently running a promotion if you text a number you receive 6 free wine samples for which one of my family members signed up for. After she used her three of six tokens Ken told her she was no longer allowed to use anymore because he couldnt keep track of how many tokens she had used. In my opinion if you are running a promotion you should follow through with the reward. My family being the non-alcoholics we are (contrary to Kens belief) felt that was a lot to begin with but we were told we could use them at a later date so we figured wed save them. Ken however "shut off" one of my family members after three samples. We were not loud, we were not belligerent, we were there to talk and enjoy some wine with our family and he completely ruined our experience and unfortunately has put a bad name on South Shore Winery in Oklahoma, California, Delaware, Arkansas, and through out Pennsylvania....

Awful experience...called 2 weeks before my wedding to see if my wedding party & I could go take pictures there. The person on the phone said it would be OK. So, our limo bus shows up and as we were getting off some overweight lady with black hair was YELLING frantically from the winery porch saying we couldnt take our drinks off our limobus. Ok, understandable. When we all got off I saw her approach some of my groomsmen, she said we could take pictures but couldnt stay long (there was no other cars in the parking lot) AND that someone would have to purchase at least one bottle of their wine. One groomsman ended up buying 3 bottles just so they could leave us alone. Even my photographer saw how rude this lady was being toward us and said hed NEVER drink or buy their wine! Nonetheless, I didnt let it ruin my wedding. I did get some nice photos but because of my hospitality there Id never go back for a "wine tasting" even though it free.

Each experience at the South Shore Wine Company has been a delightful one. The beauty of the facility is only surpassed by the kindness and concern the Mazza family shows each and every guest. I have hosted two showers, several retirement events for my school district and a luncheon at South Shore Wine Company. At each visit those attending the events found the service, the food AND the wine to be the BEST in the area...Kudos to Bob, Kathy, Mario and Vanessa Mazza for making each trip to South Shore Wine Company a pleasant and memorable journey...

We attended the harvest wine weekend. The owners wife was not only rude and loud but disrespectful. One of our group people who bought a drink ticket but wasnt drinking and wanted a coffee.... She wouldnt give it to her because she didnt have a different color ticket! She was very ignorant. Not only were the customers upset, but we caught the staff rolling their eyes! I will never go back there!!!

This place is a must. I took a chance on my way home to Massachusetts from Michigan and it was the best rest stop I have ever made. The wine tasting is amazing. Their Grüner, Concord, Niagara, and Rose are just absolutely delicious. Words cant explain, its a must.

We happened upon this winery and boy were we glad. The young lady there shared the history of that location and we enjoyed the wine tasting. Now to figure out how to buy some more.

Lovely location. Great historic cellar. Reasonable prices on wines. They have a few dry reds, but their specialty is more on the sweet wines. Try the Niagara.

Very nice place, good inexpensive wine tasting options and awesome wine, even a small restaurant gets this place a 5 out of 5. Did I say the wine is awesome?
