A great golf course with a pleasant and highly professional staff. It has a very nice training area with good bunkers, a quality chipping area, and real grass driving range that is of high quality, not all sand and bad grass like you see at so may local courses. Very nice indeed! The course itself is certainly challenging as well as beautiful and perfectly manicured. An amazing value for their reasonable greens fee rates. Probably the best value in the entire Pittsburgh area. People like Warren in the pro shop make this a memorable experience each time I play there. He is just a wonderful and helpful man. Their golf pro is very friendly and helpful as well. Everyone is… except a somewhat rude and impatient young lady in the Pub named Ashley. On several occasions I have found her to be unneccesarily abrasive, impatient and condescending, and far more worried about talking on her cell phone than waiting on customers. It becomes immediately obvious that this person thinks she is a great deal more important than the customer. She is very pretty and could be the all around perfect bartender with little effort except for this important character flaw. If not for the self-important Ashley, this review would certainly have been 5 stars, and that is only because they have no 6 star rating. I still intend to make this facility my new home course. I will certainly keep going back again and again and make the long and arduous drive through the downtown traffic from Fox Chapel to play and practice on this fine golf track. But myself and my friends will not buy food or beverage while Ashley is in the Pub. We will play our golf there and then celebrate the day with food and beverage elsewhere on those particular days… I play across the country in a national competitive amateur golf tour as well as playing 3 to 5 rounds each week at the local level. I have never complained about anyone on a golf course in my 57 years. I have never posted negative feedback either. I am embarrassed to do so now, and apologize in advance to the wonderful folks who run this course. I truly did nothing to cause her to be so harsh to me. This person just doesnt seem to realize that she is an Ambassador for this amazing course at all times. And in this day and age of the internet, good online feedback becomes essential. With all the money they spend on this course, and the expensive advertising campaign they have spent to make it a premier course in the area; it is a shame to see one person ruin it because of her self important and abrasive nature. I will remove this feedback if asked by them to do so, or if Ashley is no longer employed there, though I certainly do not want her to be fired or reprimanded. Just be nice to your customers Ashley. Just be reasonably nice and patient with the old golf hacks who come there please. I think you will find they will be nice and patient with you in return. We all have bad days. When you are having a bad day, please try not to take it out on the people who fund this enterprise. The returning Quicksilver Customer… Your customers are the people who help you folks pay the bills and feed your families… All the customer wants in return is a nice place to play, relax, have fun and unwind from the troubles of daily life with their friends… I want that place to be Quicksilver.

It once was called Falling Timbers...Got a Face lift and became Quicksilver....And on many a hole a double bog it did deliver! But one day I teed it up and had 2 swats at the ball and on 2 on that par five I did arrive...637 yards..almost went over ..but a comeback birdy i did deliver..Not to Shabby that day with a 3 and a 5 wood....#6 hole..They cleaned the course completely up.. the greens are fast and true...Relatively flat compared with the rest of the Billygoat courses of Western Pa.The Rolling Hills of the Midway!I have played that course on an off since 1974...of all the long courses in Western Pa. this one is well taken care of..So much better than many of the other Public courses..nary a dandylion or blade of crabgrass did my eyes see!!!

11 friends and I played Quicksilver. The course is very good. It is well maintained and has an interesting layout. There are a lot of blind shots. Every dogleg seems to go to the right, which was a little uninspiring. Though long, the course is forgiving, with most errant shots NOT resulting in a lost ball. One big complaint: they serve virtually no food on Sundays (granola bars, candy bars and hot dogs only). We arrived in time for breakfast and they didnt even have basics of muffins or bagels or something. And the staff was indifferent about that (borderline rude). Otherwise, the staff was pleasant. Advice for course management: get something to serve for breakfast and give your kitchen a weekday off, not a busy weekend day off.

Love the golf course, one of the best public courses in the Pittsburgh area. Not happy at all with the marshall. I was in a foursome on Good Friday with an early start, kept up with the group in front, no one pushing from behind and we get a message on the golf cart saying we are 10 minutes behind pace, please play faster. OK, Ive been playing golf for over 30 years, I know that if theres no one pressing me from behind, I am on pace. Later in the same round, again no one pressing from behind, the mashall comes up and asks if we would skip a hole to speed up the pace!?!?!?!??!?!?! Really? how is that going to speed up the pace? There is NO ONE in sight behind us!!!!

Quicksilver has two good holes - 8 and 18. The rest is simply a terrible layout with plenty of blind shots. There is no arguing that Quicksilver is maintained better than some private clubs. I wish it had a better layout to compliment the superintendent and friendly staff. There is no indication of pin placement - all flags and sticks are the same color. Given the number of uphill approaches, it makes for a frustrating day.

Nice course. Very well taken care of. Lots of bunkers around greens and in fairways. GPS units built in carts but just old text units with distances to front, back, and middle of greens. Not really worth the fees they are asking though. Will go again but will have to be a special deal like 2 for 1.

You want to test yourself then play this course. 70 years old and love the course. All holes are enjoyable. Pars are tough to get but this is not Ft. Cherry.

Very nice condition, greens quite fast and tricky depending on your location on the green. Price @ $33 for seniors excellent.
