This experience was in the dining room. Parking was fairly full. If there is an event that evening, come early or be ready to walk a from a nearby business (not much of a walk). We had burgers with friends, with four people in total. The burgers were properly cooked, had that hand made look and thickness to them, and were juicy. Excellent!! Only one of the party diverged form the burgers, ordering a macaroni and cheese seafood dish. It was not to her preferences. The waitress noticed that she had only taken a couple of bites at the end of the meal and was not interested in taking the remainder home. She asked if there was an issue, and we responded "That it was just a little to rich for her. No big deal." When we received the check it was minus the mac and cheese. That is professionalism. Very impressive these days. Summary. Very happy customers that are sure to return bringing others whenever possible. Great beer selection also!

Food was mediocre at best. We came on a Sunday at about 530pm and there wasnt any other customers here when we showed up and had a party of 13 which they made smart remarks and seemed discussed that we hadnt made a reservation. The wait stuff was not very friendly and very very slow. The food was either overdone or not cooked enough. However, out of 13 of us I will say that most of us enjoyed the appetizers. Which included the Ahi Tuna and it was phenomenal and others had the hummus which also was very good. Getting drink refills took forever and it was hard to get the waiter to return to our table. I mean if you get your food and the waiter doesnt show back up for 15 minutes to find out how your food is.......then Im not sure where else to start.

I have to start by saying i normally never rate a place a one. However this is the one exception. Went to the bar area the bar tender mike was clearly overwhelmed. Ordered a cup of homemade chili and there bbq bacon cheese burger medium . The Chili was horrible it was so bland I highly doubt that it was homemade. The burger was the worst i ever had. First the meat was overcooked. Second, the beef tasted worst then the frozen ground beef that i get at the Glenwood Market down the street. From the lackluster service to the horrible food and high prices. John Allison restaurant is a huge disappointment. It is a shame because the atmosphere is nice. I would not be back anytime soon

The service, food, and atmosphere is excellent. It has over 20 TVs, a game room, and the outdoor patio is awesome. It is the only place like it in the area. I have a few favorites on the menu: the crab pretzel, egg rolls, burgers, pot-stickers, and the seafood mac n cheese. They also have a frozen drink maker that can turn out some awesome drinks for a great price. You should try out their sister restaurant, Flannerys Tavern on the Square in Mercersburg as well.

The service is hit or place. Hostess isnt always the greatest. Didnt feel welcomed. Maybe they changed sense being there a month ago. Dont come to my table telling me we need to be done soon we have a reservation coming in. WRONG. Food is standard enhanced bar food, nothing worth coming writing home. Its a bar with a restaurant.

Definitely a dive bar. We had a few drinks and ordered wings. The hot wings had a decent flavor, but they they needed to be cooked longer because the skin was very chewy and not at all crisp. If you are looking for a place to grab some drinks and bar food, this place is ok.

We ate here last night. Wings were great but the potato soup and caesar salad was horrible. Service was even worse. Will never go back and would recommend to pick some place else. Cebco in Marion has better service, food and the price is much better.

Normally we reserve John Allison Public House for our special occasions. We never had any issues in the past. The food was always worth every penny however not anymore. The magic is gone. Food and service are the equivalent to Ruby Tuesdays now.

The food was good but the atmosphere was lacking. The walls are painted red with no decorations and it is very loud. The building & interior seems almost like it was thrown together and money ran out.
