I love the BMFI, too, but today I went there to see a movie and thieves slipped my purse out from under my seat, stole my debit card and a credit card, along with all of my cash, out of my wallet while I watched the movie!! I would not have even realized that this had happened if my credit card companys Fraud Division hadnt called me as I was leaving the theater to question some unusual charges they saw on my card. THIEVES CAN STRIKE ANYWHERE, LADIES, EVEN ON THE MAIN LINE! Do not leave your purse on the floor there, ladies, or you could get ripped off, too!

Its ashame they are putting the other small businesses out of business because they take up the municipal lot behind the theater. The theater built on their own parking lot, not caring about the other merchants on the block...now they want the municipal lot to be their private parking lot. When the other businesses are gone due to the loss in revenue we all be sorry then. It is a shame they dont play fair :(

Im a huge fan of this theatre. Firstly, its gorgeous. Second, theres a great coffeeshop attached to it called Hothouse, which has some pretty good coffee. Third and most important, the movies they show here are always really beautiful, indie films. Some you may have heard of, others not. Ive had great memories at this theatre and will continue to.

Finally a movie theater with offset seating. Why did this take so long & why dont all theaters arrange their seating in this manner? Some of the rear seats are a long, long way from a smallish screen. Clean place with a superior lineup of movies. Strongly suggest prebuying your tickets to avoid the disappoint of a sold out show.

I love the indie movies they show. Have visited many times with family and friends. The seats are comfortable and the theatre food is reasonable compared to other chain theaters. Plus they have special film series where you can see movies you could not see anywhere else. They even have a kiddie matinee on Saturday mornings.

I love this place. While most of the Mainline traditional movie theaters have gone out of business, BMFI has brought a cultural gem to Bryn Mawr. Rather than drive business out of the community, the active theater has attracted businesses and Bryn Mawr has a thriving economy.

A bit pricey if you are not a member. Excellent film curation, and a well done expansion. They really nail down their mission of being a Film Institute, not just a movie theater. The concession stand is by far the best I have ever seen. This is a great asset to the community.

Wonderful reconstruction and design work makes it worth it just to see the exterior. Great films to see, yummy alternative (and more affordable) snacks to be had. Have coffee and post-film discussion at the cafe in the small concourse.

Great "art house" movie theater. Modern theaters housed behind a vintage facade. Film classes and memberships also offered. Parking is behind building and can be hard to find on your first visit, access from Bryn Mawr Avenue.

Cute nice theater. Parking seems bad, but there is actually a parking garage behind it. The admussion and snacks are reasonable. A great combination of arthouse, classic films. From NJ but am considering becoming a member.

A vibrant hub in our community that in addition to having great movies, produces wonderful educational programming for children and adults. Lots of food available for a movie – snacking, and seats are comfortable.

I came in the afternoon so there were a great many seniors. The selection of films is great. The concessions and seats are conventional. The screen and audio system were up to date. It is a long narrow room.

The Bryn Mawr Film Institute is awesome. They play many of the best films each year that many other theaters dont. I attend their screenings regularly and Im very glad theyre a part of the neighborhood.

The heart of films lives here, a beautiful space, warm environment, and the films are often hand picked, not box office giants. I can truthfully say I have not seen a subpar film in this theatre.

They have great screenings and the best movies. I like the decor and the ambience here. Very lively. I wish they could have more selection because thats one thing that I think they miss the most.

The staff is very friendly, and accommodating, especially to the hard of hearing. For the latter there are caption viewers, and amplified earphones. I highly recommend this wonderful theater!!!

A wonderful old fashion movie theater showing classics and first-run movies. They offer yearly memberships that get you discounts on ticket prices and access to member-only events.

An historic film house that engages the community at large. I enjoy the Drexel Mega-Bad Movie nights where they make fun of the movie live on stage. A very enjoyable experience!

Ive enjoyed every film Ive watched at the theater. Parking if easy if you park in the lots behind the theater. There are plenty of nearby places to enjoy dinner before the show.

Excellent! Local gem, and really makes the movie experience all that. They pick great movies to show, and it is nice to have some place outside the city to see artistic films.

Nice local art & mainstream movies. Pricing quite reasonable & better if you become a member. The seating isnt the most comfortable, but everything else very good.

The best movie theatre for interesting movies. Get here early. Sold out houses are very common. Popcorn is excellent. The crowd tends to be older.

BMFI is a charming art house cinema. Theater 1 is awkward and uncomfortable, but the others are a great place to see a movie.
