What the newly renovated park lacks in shade it makes up for in lineal foot beach access and cleanliness. With a convenient central "shack" with snacks, rentals, bathrooms and outdoor showers this is a great place to cool off during our 75-ish days of summer! On hot days plan on coming early to get parking, otherwise the lot fills up quickly. Note that theres a lot of lake foliage in the center of the swimming/wading area, which is annoying and can be a deterrent to swimmers. The play area is good sized with a climbing structure, two sets of swings and monkey-bar type play facility. With so much water frontage, theres plenty of ducks/geese so look out for bird poop in the grass, and always remember that water fowl can be territorial so always keep an eye on your little ones! Be sure to explore the little trail to the north; it starts right from the parking lot and is a great way to see nesting ducklings, 1 or 2 cranes/egrets, and - if youre lucky - an eagle in the tall trees.

This place can get a little crowded on a good day, and Lake Washington is about as clean as other murky lakes. The "sand beach" part is very small in comparison to places like Alki, Golden Gardens, Lake Sammamish State Park and even Gene Coulon Park. So its not the absolute greatest but just average in comparison to other beach parks around Western WA. The amenities sometimes run out if you dont get them early (e.g. SUP) as expected so be prepared for potential disappointment. However, it has some shower amenities outdoors, a sizeable public bathroom and is within walking distance to a couple food options for able bodied people. Theres plenty space for shade or grassy areas to set up tents if a group wanted to.

Beautiful views, with a paved handicap accessible trail. What more could one want in a park? The beach is available for swimming in the summer and there is a plethora of lovely birds, herons and ducks are a regular sight along with a variety of others. The landscaping is beautiful, it stories a balance of planned and maintained with wild. It has a conveniently located bathroom, though I have never used it so I cant speak on its merits besides location. It is just as beautiful at night, the city lights reflect on the water. When combined with the subtle park lighting the open sky and stars are enough to navigate the path. Plus it is a great little spot for Pokemon collecting.

A fine park with a fun walk that leads out into the water to a swimming platform; however, this park is often crowded. The playground is inadequate with a few swings and a play structure that is really just a holding platform for the line that forms for the single slide. On Fridays in the summer, the parking lot gets converted to a Farmers Market which often has a live band and several food vendors. The Farmers Market is actually rather small with limited options, but it is fun being able to walk to it. If you want to avoid crowds, visit the adjacent Juanita Bay Park. It may not have a beach or a playground, but it is very walkable with lots of wildlife to view.

very nicely redone beachfront park. huge parking lot which has a farmers market on Fridays in the summer. there is a really cool walkway that takes you for a loop right on the water. a nice place to watch the sunset. there are a few picnic tables and a playground for kids. one large building in the center houses restrooms and a small store that sells snacks. not sure their hours but it must just be a few hours a day. i have seen stand up paddle board rentals here as well. if you bring a blanket there is plenty of open space to lay down in some grass.

Nice park for sitting and relaxing at the beach or for walking. My wife and I would come and walk laps around the huge pier circling the swimming area. Swimming area is good for kids as even the deepest part is probably only about 4 feet deep. Be mindful though of water quality. I have seen signs up in the past indicating no swimming because of excessive biological water contamination (read as "bird poo"). On one instance I was browsing the web about this park and noticed an online notice for no swimming but there was nothing posted on site.

Ideal para una tarde de relajación. Puedes caminar, participar en partidos de voly playero, celebrar cumpleaños, montarte en una tabla y cruzar el lago, o simplemente sentarte y observar el atardecer.

Nice place to take the kids and play. The playground is nice and easy to access. The beach area is hit and miss, sometimes there is a good amount of duck poop on the sand and grass areas. The thought of going in the water isnt very appetizing. The beach makes for some great photos though, especially when the sun is sitting pretty low. The boardwalk over the water can make for some nice photos.

NOT a good place to have your dogs off leash. Its disruptive to some of the other people trying to enjoy the beach. Perfect swimming for the kids because the water is so shallow. Theres not a lot of sand area compared to the amount of people that go to that beach but theres still a grassy area thats close enough to the water. Theres also a playground and concession stand

This area is one of my favorite places to walk. It has a picnic area, lots of benches, and a beautiful view of the water and have a nice sandy area to make sand castles in. I come here almost every night for a walk and my only true complaint is people bring their dogs and dont clean up their poop (gross), so be sure to enjoy the view while also looking out for number 2.

This is a great local beach that has a nice walk around dock making an enclosed swimming area, there is a wetlands area, sandy beach, volleyball area, bathrooms and changing rooms. In the summer there is a Friday Market in the parking lot. There is overflow parking across the street. At night the lights from the floating bridge and Seattle look beautiful.

Good. Needs some work, the bathrooms are really bad, that building needs to go. And aside from the yellow jacket Bee problem, and the water being unsafe to swim its a great park! Kirkland parks nerds to take some lessons from the Bellingham parks program and kick it up a notch. The budget is certainly there for the taxes we all pay!

Cute place, good grassy spots to lay out. Nice dock enclosing a swimming area, but its pretty shallow. The sand is also a very short distance so its not a big sandy beach. However, theres the paddle board rentals and yummy popsicle shop. Overall we had a good time, what a beautiful spot, you can even see part of the Seattle skyline!

Been coming here all my life, unfortunately. I say that because before the city restored it ducks completely owned the territory and it was covered in feces. Since then (which was years ago), this place has really come to be a great hangout spot on the eastside during summer! If Im not in Seattle at Golden Gardens, I would be here
