4 stars for it being the closest thing to a beautiful, dense forest thats only 25 minutes away! The trees are tall and towering, which gives you a great canopy to hike under on hot days (like today!). There are a few trails to choose from, or add onto--choose your own adventures are always fun. It also has that rich, musty forest smell that I LOVE. There are also tons of raspberry bushes lining the sides of the trails... yum! Yes, there is horse poop (a generous sprinkling), but then again it *is* an equestrian park. I would definitely come back in the fall and see how the foliage changes!

Our family enjoys Bridle Trails State Park on a regular basis, but this weekend we enjoyed a ranger-led tour with our Girl Scout troop (2nd grade Brownies). Ranger Matthew Birklid did an exceptional job with 11 of our troops 7 year old girls. We hiked the trillium trail and enjoyed the beautiful fall leaves and fun stories Ranger Matt shared with us. He answered dozens of questions both from the girl scouts and their parents. We are grateful to have such a beautiful forest and exceptional service in our very own community!

This was one of the funnest trails thats fully enclosed with a city around it. A lot of mild turns and low rises, with many criss-cross trails to make it more enjoyable. The perimeter trail is around 3-4 miles. It is shared with hikers, joggers and horse riders. If you have a family with young kids, this is a definite fun hike to take them on!

If youre looking for access to the park, its on the west side. Head south on 116th Avenue, and at about the 5200 block, youll see a big open driveway on the eastside of the road. Since this is a State Park, youll need to have a Discover Pass or pay the $10 parking fee. Please support State Parks by buying a pass and using this fantastic park!

Enjoy miles of running and walking in Bridle Trails. Park with a Discovery Pass for free or on weekends for free at the nearby school. One loop is at least 3.5 with no backtracking! Can mix/match for miles of fun on soft-surface. Heads up for horses from time to time!

Beautiful trails, wide for horseback and bikers, lots in smaller trails weaved thru center of big/outer trail. Well kept and maintained. 3 arenas, bathrooms, water for your animals and lots of trailer/regular parking. One of my favorite trail systems

Bridle Trails State Park is a beautiful park tucked in behind horse farms. The park is small, but feels endless. Watch where you step, the parks primary users are equestrians. Also remember to yield right of way to equestrians if youre on foot.

I went here for a 4 mile run and its absolutely perfect. You get away from the traffic and really immerse yourself in nature. Theres a decent amount of uphill and downhills so it can be a nice challenging run as well.

I was pleasantly surprised to find such a nice park in the middle of the city. Feels very secluded once your on the trails. Well maintained trails, with miles of smaller paths crisscrossing throughout.

For being in the city this place is pretty freaking cool. The one thing I would say is that it looks easy but there are a lot of small trails that fork off and every time I go there I get lost. :)

Fantastic running trails and if you cant park there try parking at Benjamin Elementary and running the connector trail like we did. Adds ~2 miles and is a challenging but nice trail itself.

I run the Bridle Trails 50K each year, excellent event. The park offers a solid 5 mile outer loop and other offshoot options. Beautiful thick forest, one of my favorite urban state parks.

A wonderfully woodsy, gorgeous park.... but dont expect it to be a fun place for a picnic. Its meant for horse-riding, so theres going to be horse crap all over the place. Ah, nature...

One of our favorite spots to escape the city and enjoy the miles of wooded running trails. We enjoy visiting the goats and watching the horses pass us throughout the park.

This is a great place for a run or walk to get to some forest trails while not traveling too far. Horses are allowed but the trails are not at all congested by them.

Beautiful park and good trails! Unfortunately you can see a lot of houses and hear traffic from about half the trail which kind of sucks but its certainly not bad!

Wonderful, quiet park full of paths. While it is primarily designed for horse riding, it makes a great place to walk, though can get quite muddy on the rainy days.
CH
Chris Sweet
Quiet, lots of long trails. Easy to get lost, which is great if you have a lot of time. Designed for horses, so it can take awhile to walk on foot. Another plus.

Great place to get out into nature and is super close to work and home. Would absolutely recommend. Just be on your toes to dodge the horse poop.

Beautiful park. Well maintained. Suggest the walking buddy system. Bear pepper spray might not hurt for unruly wildlife.

Watch out for horse poop! Trails are okay but no mobile reception (which is concerning if youre by yourself).

Most of the park was covered by dense forest. Almost every weekend has equine show in the summer.
