I was really impressed with this theatre. Growing up in Hampton, I can honestly say this theatre has come a long way and has been upgraded nice. I like being able to order tickets ahead of time online and already have a seat. This menu has been upgraded too. Instead of the regular popcorn and candy, they also have pizza, chicken tenders, mazarella sticks, milkshakes, and fruit smoothies. I also like how the theatre is layed out too. There is a mini wall between each row so you dont feel like you are going to fall on the people down below you. The numbers for the seat or have a backlight so it is easy to see in a dim theatre. The bathroom was fairly clean as well. I would give it an A minus. The pictures dont do it justice for how CLEAN the bathroom was. Negatives There is no tray to sit your food on. There is a drink holder but no tray. So youre going to have to hold on tight to your hot pizza in your lap. There are also no menu items for anyone that might be a vegan or a vegetarian or even just watching their weight. The amount of calories in the food.... lets just say this is a cheat day lol. Also, why are people still buying tickets outside? Every other place around here allows you to buy tickets inside at a counter or kiosk. They do have a counter inside but it appears to only be for the handicap. I cant imagine buying tickets outside in the winter time . Over review strong 4. Adding a tray and better menu items would make me come back more often.

The good: Best popcorn in town. The Bad: Dont go to the late evening shows at AMC 24 Hampton. I went to see the opening show of Mission Impossible Rogue Nation Friday night 31 July at 8:45 with my wife and son. There were a group of 15 to 18 year olds that sat in the back of the theater and talked and curse loudly through the entire movie. I went into the lobby and told an attendant, and they sent a police officer up and called out the kids that were being loud. The kids returned a few minutes later and talked even louder through the entire movie. I noticed that there were only about 40 people in the entire theater, which wad odd for an opening night of a blockbuster movie. Apparently the general public is aware of this problem. This is my second bad experience with the shows at AMC Hampton after 5 pm. The last time I went to the AMC 24 Hampton theater I was alone and was leaving the theater, and was literally stopped outside the theater by a young black kid who stepped directly in front of me and tried to take my popcorn. I warned him to back away and he did. This group of kids uses the theater as a hangout on Friday nights. Check out other bad reviews of this theater. If you are looking for a good movie experience, go to Paragon theaters in Newport News, as they have reclining seats, and beer and pizza just next door that you can bring into the theater, and you wont be bothered by a group of stupid teenagers.

The theater was a COMPLETE mess. I understand it was busy HOWEVER I witnessed FIVE(5) Ushers standing in one spot waiting for theater to exit. During that moment they could have been cleaning that filthy auditorium. In addition the floors behind concession was FILTHY! Again, utilizing ushers standing around should have been enforced. Also, during one of the worse storms, Hurricane Matthew, the general manager, Virginia, did not use wisdom to ensure the safety of her personnel, which the majority are teenagers. A VERY dangerous situation that could have been avoid had she used common sense and heed the public warning. These are just a few of serious issues with this particular theater. The Good: Been here close to 20x probably (usually afternoons) & have always loved the experience. Super friendly & professional staff, giant screens, and clean interior. The "Bad": On one rare occasion when catching a late night show (10PM-ish on a weekday), I seemed to encounter some possible hoodlums in my empty theater room wanting to harm me. I cant prove their intentions, but they did some very suspicious things that made me feel very uncomfortable. I chose to leave early, due to feeling a very, very bad vibe. Probably should have reported it, but just left instead. I should say, however, that this was a one time anomaly to otherwise great experiences at this theater so far.

This is the third time we have encountered this problem. I have taken it to the management and it still not fixed. Last night{10/21/16} We went and took our seats. During the movie there were people in the theater with their cell on. A person from the back screamed at them to turn their phones off. With unneeded cursing and name calling. This was very uncomfortable for me and my wife. Then all through the movie people were talking and clapping. I am thinking of refunding our future tickets. And looking for another place to go to enjoy a movie

Hamptons AMC Theater is a big theater with a variety of movies and showtimes everyday of the week. Tickets can be purchased outside at the box office, online, or at two consoles inside the door. Skip the box office line by purchasing at the consoles! You pick your seats when you buy your tickets. The seats are very comfortable and recline. There are traditional movie theater snacks and even smoothies at the consoles soon stand. In the lobby there is also a bar! The bathrooms are clean!

I love the new updates and the seatings but I pre ordered to go see Star Wars and instead of having one staff member in the theater directing people to their seats it was no one so I had to argue with a couple it did not understand how to read it tickets and seats that they were sitting in my seat for my family I really think that until everything is situated the staff should have at least one person theyre directing people how to read their tickets and how to read where to sit

Go to CinéBistro or Paragon! ! Cheap ticket prices is probably the only good thing I have to say about this place. Theres always screaming kids outside, police officers roaming around, theater seats are gross, and the food selection is the normal over priced stuff. The worst thing about this place is if you go to a premier showing you will walk out deaf, its not just loud, its so loud it hurts. Even after people complain about the volume, the staff never do anything about it.

I worked in movie theaters for about a decade. This theater does a great job of managing lines so they move quickly. The popcorn is right, and they have a huge variety of soda selections through the coke freestyle machine. Their seating is very comfortable, with reclining seats and plenty of space. Moreover, the prices are really good considering how nice the theater is. The presentation is good, with digital projectors that throw a bright and crisp image.

My husband and I used to love this theater. We drive from Norfolk because we like AMC 24. However, the change to reclining seats that are touch screen controlled leave no options for people with back problems that need to sit 45 degrees with feet on the floor. They are charging 15.00 for theaters with these seats and they are not comfortable and force you to recline with no back support. We will not be returning to the AMC 24 in Hampton.
